Key responsibility:

·Strategic management and control of a number of Hardware Categories.

·Drive total ownership of the assigned categories: supplier performance, cost savings and developing the supply base and delivering results to key stakeholders in alignment with overall business plan.

·Develop and drive Hardware Category strategies to align with Corporate and Divisional strategy and vision.

·Drive delivery of identified improvement projects and activities within the broader context of the procurement function and supply chain.

·Using tools and techniques to profile; benchmark; research and assess the market; risks; competition; trends and new opportunities to ensure continuity of supply; to make sure that best value is achieved and to keep organization ahead of the competition. It will be expected of the position to demonstrate expert knowledge about the assigned category areas.

·Act as local administrative leader for the Shanghai team. Reporting structure for local team will remain from functional point of view.

·Act as a sourcing representative with factory activities.

Key competencies:

·Experience from working in a busy procurement team, strong commercial background and working experience.

·Stakeholder management skills; ability to ensure acceptance by other departments within the organization.

·Experience and knowledge of purchasing processes.

·Good understanding of the role of a category manager and ability to develop and articulate category strategies.

·Experience of driving supplier management and development.

·Experience from managing business and/or supply chain improvement projects.

·Financial understanding.

·Fact based sourcing experience. Being able to understand and optimize total cost.

·Being able to work in a multi-cultural environment.

·Excellent communication skills in a cross-functional environment.

·Material competence; brass, steel, plastic etc.

Requirements:

·Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience working with purchasing/sourcing/supplier development.

·Several years of project management experience with proven results.

·Several years of leadership experience, leading a team of people.

·Several years of experience working with low cost countries (China in particular) and experience of working abroad.

·Proven track record of cost savings, supplier reductions and supplier development through category management work.

·Experience from working in an international environment (corporation or company).
