IT Operations
IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices. It employs around 8,500 employees globally and comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and PMO, and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC’s technology strategy to support the Group’s goals.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the IT Operations team as Senior Technical Analyst- DCSM.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure correct Floor Management process and procedure are followed always and quality maintained to provide the best service possible to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure that the business’ IT needs are understood and that services are tailored to meet their requirements,
- Ensure that users are fully aware of the services available and receive maximum benefit from them.
- Ensure consistent deployment and adherence of all standards, process and procedures within data centre(s)
- Operational Risk input as and when required
- Ensure Aperture data accuracy for data centre(s)
- Manage all installations, moves, changes and demises within site(s)
- Well communication with China regulators for local data centre support and with 3rd party companies and IFM for solution design for their interconnections to HTSC customers.
- Well communication with local engineering team and regional domains and maintain good relationship with external service suppliers;
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- University graduate with a degree or equivalent in electrical / mechanical engineering related discipline.
- Knowledge as to how a computer room floor is laid out and how modern server, storage and network infrastructure is integrated.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with key data centre facility suppliers in China.
- Full understanding of China Banking regulators’ standards and regulations.
- Sound base knowledge of data centre infrastructures such as BMS, PMM, CRAC, UPS and cabling and resolve problems on existing and proposed data centre environment from an operational perspective.
- Track record in ITO project
- Ability to prioritize and multitask and willing to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
- Working knowledge of Aperture, CMS and GSD
- Installation, migration and demise of IT equipment within Data Centres
- Strong teamwork, organisation, complex problem resolution, initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command in oral and written English.
