Purpose:

Every Company is a software company and to stay competitive they need to think about how to envision Modern Applications and elevate business transformation with a Modern Lifecycle. Visual Studio helps enterprises turn ideas into software with agility and quality. The Solution Specialist Developer Tools adds value to Microsoft by generating and closing net new revenue and opportunities, winning against competition and increasing market share through new and/or leveraged investments in Visual Studio and Microsoft’s application platform.


Key Responsibilities:

- Drive awareness of our vision for Modern Apps and ALM including our value proposition for DevOps, Quality Enablement, Agile Processes and Team Collaboration

- Identify, lead and close Devtools opportunities and their inclusion within large or strategic deals

- Identify, share and participate in opportunities which sell the total App Platform

- Create and maintain strong relationships with Account Managers and Licensing Specialists to ensure DevTools are appropriately covered in agreements

- Identify ALM, DevOps, Quality Enablement, Agile Processes and Team Development competitive opportunities

- Focus on deploying production environments, delivering superior technical engagements, driving tools usage, and targeting the latest version of .NET

- Support connected sales and marketing activities across events, campaigns, programs, and direct customer engagement oppties

- Support recruitment of MPN ALM partners to scale ALM and Quality Enablement solution sales motion and service delivery

- Drive broad TFS adoption and Test opportunity through DT Deployment Planning Services (DPS)


Experiences Required:

- Sales and partner management, complex sales training, sales methodologies (equivalent to MSSP), broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), effective marketing tactics, negotiation, financial analysis

- Sales or consulting position within an IT Consulting or Services company such as Accenture, EDS, IBM Global Services, HP or the equivalent

- Sales or consulting position in a competing or partner company, particularly IBM, HP/Mercury, Oracle (see below for full list of competitors/partners), or a software company with a Developer Tools focus


Education Required:

- Bachelor’s Degree and above
