Group Overview
As the biggest international development center of the Microsoft ASG team, the Search Technology Center Asia (STCA) in Beijing is working to deliver innovative products and technologies to the global Internet markets, covering a broad range of areas including Search, Information Platforms and Ads. Our combination of global scale, local focus, and an integrated partnership with the world-class Microsoft Research Asia gives us a unique capacity to deliver truly useful services for our users worldwide and to bring the great ideas from China to the world.
Roles & Responsibilities
-We are looking for a Program Manager Lead who is passionate about building large scale online services, and has the aptitude to succeed in a rapid development environment to deliver innovative Internet services.
-As a Program Manager Lead, you will be responsible for driving the product plan and technology roadmap of your feature area, and for driving the feature team to quickly iterate once the service is online. You are expected to be aspirational while being pragmatic when making product decisions, with the ultimate goal to deliver high quality services rapidly to delight our customers. You need to be strong in collaboration since you are expected to collaborate closely with teams in other locations.
-You will also be managing a team of Program Managers. You are expected to maintain a high hiring bar when recruiting talent, and to coach and grow the PMs in your team on their core PM skills and to empower them to make product and customer impact.
-You must have strong core program management skills - intuitive understanding of customer needs and pain points, strong analytical skills, and solid project management skills. You must also have solid communication and presentation skills, and a proven track record for building strong teams.
Required Qualifications
You must possess a strong computer science or mathematical background, a good grasp of software engineering principles, exceptional problem solving skills and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in delivering large scale software services and 3 years’ experience of engineering management. Knowledge and experience in information retrieval, machine learning, search algorithms, or statistical analysis in general is a strong plus.
