Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement strategies and communications programs, to create strong & positive reputation and corporate image for Microsoft in China. Create a healthy media environment and strong air coverage that fosters the continued growth and development of Microsoft's business.
- Demonstrating to all key stakeholders that Microsoft is an enabler and contributor to China’s economic growth and social development, by leveraging the assets of Microsoft (Microsoft brand, products, social programs, operations and people).
- Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts and drives positive media coverage on the company through a proactive media relations programs such as media advisories, media pitches, contributed articles, press releases, speeches and supporting collateral, media events and roundtables. Track and monitor efficiency of media relations work though relationship with media analysts.
- Strategically manage the external and internal positioning of the Microsoft Greater China senior executives as main representative of the company through targeted interviews, speaking opportunities, public presentations.
- Work in close relations with Government affairs/ liaisons office to create and manage positive relationships with local opinion leaders in relevant communities such as government, community and civil society organizations, academic institutions, industry groups and environmental associations. Create an early-warning system and develop communications strategies and plans with key stakeholders involved, to protect Microsoft’s reputation in China
- Work closely with the marketing teams and digital marketing groups to build integrated plans that include and embrace digital resources, capabilities and techniques into corporate communications activities
- Creative storytelling and messaging
- Through alignment with corporate image agenda, proactively develop compelling story ideas and pitches using local customer research, industry news, Microsoft products and people, technology and lifestyle trends.
- Develop compelling, concise, creative, and credible fact-based messaging to strengthen Microsoft’s reputation in China
- Act as trusted advisor and coach, briefing management and executives on key messages and storytelling for media interviews and public or internal events
- Establish and manage Corporate Communications annual budget in a responsible and cost-effective manner

Qualifications:

- Minimal qualifications for effective performance in this job include minimum a university degree (minimum BA or equivalent) in the field of communications, with 10-plus years of related experience in positions of responsibility in major corporations
- Diverse public relations experience in major corporations and some international business knowledge is necessary to deal with various target groups of the company, both internally and externally-and to effectively and professionally represent the company publicly
- Proven leadership capabilities in developing and driving high competency employee teams
- Ability to achieve within a complex matrix organization and to work under pressure in a project-based fast changing environment
- Strong personal persuasion skills as well as pose and composure in dealing with demanding or adversarial groups
- Strong relationship skills in establishing & maintaining strategic relationship with national media and thought leaders
- Successful experience with a global organization
- Unquestioned commitment to a highly-ethical organization
- Independent & self-motivated
- Outstanding oral/written communications with all vital audience, namely senior management, media, customers and adversarial audiences
