Position Title Senior process development engineer

Position Details
1. To be responsible for key process development activities for high speed Tx/Rx OSA components R&D/NPI projects. Lead and manage CM NPI engineering team to deliver the work of quality for bringing the product to limited or volume production.
2. To engage the global cross R&D functional team to aid in DFx input, platform selection, BOM/equipment vendor interaction, prototyping, process development and validation, and device characterization to develop low-cost high-yield assembly processes.
3. To participate in jig/fixture design review for device assembly and test, and failure mode analysis (FMA) and process improvement for yield/capacity enhancement, knowledge of reliability test (such as GR-468-CORE qualification) will be preferred.
4. To take the ownership on new process technical development geographical regional basis in execution of advanced packaging technologies enabling JDSU to sustain a leadership position in the industries. Driving creativity to deliver innovative solutions exceeding internal/external customer expectations.
5. Oversea travel if needed for multi-sites within JDSU, product/process transfer to CM, platform buyoff etc.

Required Qualifications
1. BS or MS degree or higher in physics, material science, optics, mechanical engineering or equivalent fiber optics industry experience.
2. 5+ years of semiconductor packaging or fiber-optics industry with process engineering and development experience, experienced in Tx/Rx component packaging processes such as die attach, wire bonding, alignment, hermetic sealing, resistance and laser welding, epoxy and soldering. Thorough knowledge and actual process owner experience on wire bond or active alignment would be preferred.
3. Strong analytical and statistical process design skills leading risk reduction through the conceptual design, development, NPI and volume production stages of R&D. Good knowledge and understanding of development and quality tools like 6 Sigma, DOE, Gage R&R, Process capability etc.
4. Good communication, written and spoken English skill. A proven history/record of process development or NPI engineering management.
5. A strong attention to detail, Professional capability to work under pressure.
