The Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) is an association of approx. 50 international chemical companies doing business in China. AICM was formed in 1988 to address the collective interests of its members. The organization is incorporated in Hong Kong. In addition, AICM has a Chief Representative Office in Beijing and a Consulting firm in Shanghai
AICM works to:
-Promote Responsible Care and with this safe and clean practices in the manufacture, distribution and use of chemicals,
-Offer world class industry expertise to policy makers both on scientific, chemical-specific issues and on health and safety practices
-Keep members informed of new laws and regulations impacting the chemical industry-both to aid in business planning and to help insure compliance

AICM is seeking a talented individual to join our growing organization in China and the following position is currently open in Beijing:
2012-8-2 Industry Policy Advocacy Committee Director (Industry Related) (1) (Beijing)
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and review industry laws and regulations to analyze its impact on member companies’ activities in China in the following fields:
-Hazardous Chemical
-New Chemical
-Site HSE
-Transportation and Distribution Safety
-Communicate efficiently and effectively the latest laws and regulations with sub-committees and collect feedbacks from member companies.
-Coordinate with Communications Committee and Responsible Care Committee to evaluate any situations that may have impact on member companies and determine the pertinent course of actions.
-Represent member companies to actively lobby government on any issue or crisis that impacts the members in China and influence in new regulations formation.
-Play active role in day-to-day management, leadership and motivation of the regulatory affairs team, ensuring commitment to produce leading-edge work; manages team effectively to ensure clear roles and responsibilities, recognition of high-performing members and that each individual has specific professional and personal development opportunities;
-Facilitate the international exchange and collaboration on chemical industry policies and regulation
Job Requirements:
-Master degree majored in chemical related or above
-Minimum 5 years of solid experience in chemical industry
-Government background preferred but not a must.
-Prior related experience in multinational environment and laws counsel will be a definite advantage;
-Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of the China chemical market including technologies and trends, and China’s position in the global area;
-Excellent network of contacts with relevant influential government bodies and senior leaders;
-Strong planning and priority setting skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
-Effective interpersonal / communications skills;
-Willingness and flexibility to travel;
-Bilingual in Mandarin and English, with excellent oral and written communications skills
-Commitment to work, attention to detail, initiative, confidentiality, planning, strong coordinating and organizational skills, time management, problem solving, team work
