RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in supporting all UNIX (Linux) development and production systems. Assist in the administration of applications, data file structures and directories, building, racking and loading servers. Assist in the maintenance and upgrading of servers. Participate in and support monitoring and troubleshooting system performance. Perform system hardware/software maintenance through trend analysis, capacity planning a performance tuning to ensure system integrity and security, and to provide optimum speed, capacity and responsiveness. Participate in or support the configuration, implementation and maintenance of servers, system software, system software, system upgrades and software patches by installing and testing new hardware and software and updating system configuration documentation. Support the testing and implementation of all operating system upgrades for all platforms and support the testing and implementation of all operating system upgrades for all platforms. Support troubleshooting problems reported by users and by automated computing platform and hardware monitoring systems and make recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future computing platforms, servers and networks. Ensure that all the computers in the network are up and running and safe from viruses. Participate in the configuration and security for local and remote users, upgrades and third party software. Gather information to design computer systems and platforms as well as to choose the software to aide clients with their business processes. Configure, troubleshoot problems, and support non-SAP applications. Participate with business analysts and business areas in planning upgrades and expanding application functionality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience. Typically has 2 to 5 years of experience in systems administration. Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Ability to reason and logically isolate issues in applications and systems. Detail oriented in producing documentation. Must acquire one technical certification Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent. Must have basic knowledge of/skills in the content area of storage area network components and authorizations at operating system, LDAP and network level. Must have experience with the following:

Java (as an administrator of applications)
