Organization:

Spirent Communications is looking for a high-potential leader to take an already successful product verification (PV) organization to the next level. The PV Sr. Manager will lead the Beijing N&A product verification organization which is responsible for verifying & validating Spirent test solutions and products in order to ensure quality. The products and solutions range from Spirent Test Center, Avalanche, Abacus, mobility, security, and data/voice/video test solutions. The team will also provide automation solutions and verification for N&A portfolio products and services. The Sr. Manager will work closely with N&A engineering teams, business & program managers, locally and in North America, to deliver product development results with quality as well as to help the engineering teams grow its workforce and organizational maturity.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->To work closely with multi-site (China and North America) cross-functional management teams to balance features, functionality, reliability and time to market. Ensure that product releases meet market windows and satisfy customer expectations. Maximize achievements of business objectives while balanced with priorities and available resources. The cross-functional teams may include business/sales, product & program management, peer engineering teams, and global services/support.




<!--[if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->To manage operational and logistics matters on behalf of BDC N&A PV team. Tasks may include budget planning & management, lab facility planning & management, operational & team status reviews, and external contractor/vendor management.

Qualifications Desired:

The successful candidate has:

<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->At least 5 years’ experience in communication product/system verification, preferably with telecommunications-oriented wireline (fixed network) products and solutions in the Test & Measurement industry.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->At least 10 years of related/applicable working experiences, and 5 years’ experience in an engineering management role.

Hands on and effective experience, technical depth.
<!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->Experiences and getting results in driving “Test Coverage” gap analysis and improvements.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->Clear Automation projects, and result analysis of results.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->o <!--[endif]-->Familiarity with Continuous Integration environment and tools (such as Jenkins, Hudson etc.)

Advanced technical knowledge and track records of software product verification expertise and disciplines. Familiar with industry best-practice approach to PV test strategy, methodology, and toolset for product testing and test automation.
Solid track records in engineering leadership experiences building and motivating a global team with at least 20 engineers to develop and support through product life cycles. Strong bilingual communications in English and Chinese, interpersonal and teamwork skills are a must for this position.
Excellent project planning and management skills with proven track records. Ability to prioritize and negotiate to balance business objectives and available resources. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
PV knowledge and experiences in fixed network products & solutions (Access, Metro, Mobile Backhaul, IP Core, Triple-Play & Security applications) and relevant TCP/IP layer 2-7 protocols (e.g. PPPoX, DHCP, L2TP, UDP/TCP, OSPF, BGP).
Experience and understanding of at least the basic networking protocols (Routing Protocols at minimum etc.). The ability to manage teams of technical test engineers with networking background and capabilities.
Measurable impacts to the quality metrics and stability of the product.
Ability to establish and maintain credibility with a technical team of engineers quickly. Past strong technical accomplishments as an individual contributor and in the communications industry. Ability to work in a dynamic and global team-oriented environment with changing priorities.
Personal attributes: creativity and independent problem solver, drive for results and not a follower, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, collaboration skills, ability to deal with ambiguous/conflicting objectives. Customer acumen. Continuous improvements mindset. Change management.
Knowledge of customer testing requirements and test methodologies in the communications industry is a plus.
Skills (Hardware, Software, Machine operations, etc.):

Competency with Microsoft Office applications including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project). Skills in using Agile process toolset.
Demonstrated verbal, written, and group presentation & communication skills. Strong bilingual communications in English and Chinese.
Education:

Minimum a BS degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering /Telecommunication or relevant field, Master degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering is a plus.
