Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Location: Shenzhen China

Job Responsibilities

To design, writing, programming, investigate problems and identify robust solutions quickly.

To support customers and solve technical issues in customers’ core systems.

To develop new chip product functionality, communications protocols and sensing algorithms.

To use Synaptics’ systems to manage releases, revision control, product placement for all versions of firmware.

To minimize firmware size and optimize design performance.

Work closely with members of the firmware team and cross functional teams to develop quality products.

Required Qualifications

Good command in written and verbal English communications skills.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.

8+ years of embedded system software/firmware development experience.

Extensive C experience on small 8/16 bit microcontrollers or 32-bit processors.

Assembly programming is a plus.

Willing to travel primarily in the country and occasionally oversea.

Desired Qualifications

I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485 or other inter-processor communications.

Familiar with analog and digital systems, ADCs, DACs, sensors.

Experience with digital signal processing, including algorithm development. Image processing algorithms is a plus

Creative and likes to invent, optimize and improve.

Experience in working with cross functional teams to implement dynamic changes in timely manner to satisfy customer needs.

Experience in software development methodology, release management.
