Job Purpose
1.To teach swimming as part of the Physical Education curriculum, and other aquatics sports, in accordance with the approved swimming and aquatics programme of the school, to pupils of all levels, ages and ability

ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Teaching swimming, exercising direct authority, control and supervision of the Swimming Coaches
· To teach swimming as part of the Physical Education curriculum, in accordance with the approved swimming programme of the school, to pupils of all levels, ages and ability.
2.Design of swimming programme
· To design the swimming programme of the school and to ensure that this is strictly followed and implemented by the school’s Swimming Coaches during their coaching of the swimming sessions.
3.Direction, control and supervision of Swimming Coaches for other related tasks
· To direct, control and supervise the discharge by the Swimming Coaches of swimming-related and other administrative duties in accordance with school policies and department rules, regulations and guidelines.
· To plan and organise extra-curricular swimming sessions, swimming teams/events and competitions, galas and week-end swimming sessions and other swimming-related activities.
· To conduct regular briefings of the Swimming Coaches in order to update them of any new swimming rules and regulations, and to give them proper instructions prior to actual swimming sessions and prior to the discharge of their related duties and tasks.
· To preside in regular/special meetings to update the Swimming Coaches of the department’s short and long-term development plans and progress reports and to discuss any operating concerns and problems of the Swimming Coaches.
4.Design, teach, and implement other aquatic sports programmes
· To design, teach and implement other aquatics sports programmes of the school.
5.Administration and communication
· To conduct and supervise GCSE Survival lessons, to directly supervise the Swimming Coaches in after-school training programmes,
· To prepare swimming teams for, and to attend, FOBISSEA, ACAMIS & ISAC meets.
· To submit to the Head of PE the periodic evaluation, assessment, time sheets and other reports of pupils detailing their progress in swimming including their behaviour and other concerns.
· To conduct the annual performance management review of the Swimming Coaches and to submit the same to the Head of PE for review and/or approval.
6. Management of physical resources
· To manage pool resources and to liaise with the Operations section as necessary.
· To supervise the Swimming Coaches to ensure that the pool area is neat and tidy and offers a safe woring environment.
