Objective of job
- Provide consulting and support to various entities in China on Daimler architecture principles and standards, target architecture, and roadmap as guided by IT Strategy.
- Govern the implementation of new projects in regard to enterprise architecture throughout the life cycle (Quality gates) to ensure that Daimler standards are adequately considered in the solution design. Reject non-compliant standards to ensure minimization of technology stacks in order to achieve harmonization of IT landscape and run cost reduction.
- Keep strong alignment with regional and central ITM functions (center of competences) especially lead architects and technology architects in CoC’s to understand approved IT technology roadmap and its implementation.

Task designation
1 High-level demand management and consulting for all Daimler China entities
- Cross-functional demand management in order to achieve synergy effects. Identify synergies in cooperation with the business units to derive greater value from IT investments
- Collect and consolidate demands of business units (FICO, purchasing, sales, after-sales, production, quality management)
- Clarify and analyze demands to have a common understanding of consulting scope with business partner
- Provide high-level consulting to business units, regarding to process alignment and IT landscape
- Diagnose “as-is” situation and creatively develop target solutions to facilitate management decisions
- Identify the action plan, plans resource and get agreement from different parties (business partner, IT teams, HQ CoCs)
- Conduct regular and structured communication with business partner
- Assist in set-up and steer working model with JV IT and HQ CoCs
2 Strategic IT Management support
- Support IT strategy manager in the following areas:
- Alignment between business- and IT-strategies
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Daimler IT strategy initiatives
- Communicate and implement IT strategic concept (e.g., J2E) across ITM China
- Identify, analyze, communicate, escalate and find solutions to process issues related to the specific Chinese environment, e.g. in cross-brand and alliance organizations
- Collect information about Business/IT initiatives of all Daimler IT organizations and other IT organizations within China. Support upper management by preparing, reporting and prioritizing initiatives and innovations
3 Enterprise Architecture Management:
1) Harmonize and drive IT target landscape
- Maintain as-is, understands the target and drive the roadmap of target landscape regarding business architecture, application landscape and technology
- Identify action areas for targeted IT investments for long term benefits and savings
- Optimize business processes across various Daimler entities / Joint Ventures of Daimler in China
2) Enterprise architecture compliance review and consulting
- Consult architecture conformance thus promoting a high degree of target architecture implementation
- Performs architecture compliance review to align business requirements with IT targeted functional strategy and architecture
4 Internal organization - miscellaneous

Qualification required
o Training
University Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Informatics or equivalent higher education. Passion in learning new technologies and IT platforms.
o Experience (type of)
- At least 4 years of professional experience in various fields of IT or business.
- Proven ability to drive initiatives in cross-functional and international environments.
- knowledge of architectural governance frameworks is preferred.
- Knowledge of leading IT technologies (like SAP, Oracle etc) is preferred
o Specific knowledge
- Fluent written English as well as oral English are required.
- Experience in project coordination including scope-, time- and risk management.
- Analytical thinking, creative visualization of conceptional results, high communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work flexible, goal oriented and self motivated.
- Good MS office skills.
