We are looking for an exceptional Program Manager to join our team. Our group builds Manageability/Administration around monitoring and analytical in Microsoft SharePoint http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/> Server and SharePoint Online hosting. These products bring together information from a multitude of places (SharePoint, Search, Content management, Office Services released in SharePoint, third-party solutions, etc.) and provide business users with a single point of access to monitor, analyze/diagnostic and troubleshoot if there are issues. Our goal is to make the SharePoint administration easier, more intelligent and effective.

As part of the Office organization, our team takes a customer scenario driven and PM-led approach to defining usable and useful features for IT Pro, BDM and non-IT admins worldwide. As the owners of the Manageability of SharePoint Server, we share in the success of the fastest growing $1B+ business Microsoft has ever had. And as contenders in the enterprise portal, collaboration and solution platform market, we actively compete with Microsoft's top competitors, including IBM, EMC, and especially Google.
We are a team that loves big challenges and has a long history of shipping market specific, global markets features products and technologies. We work on a very broad set of technologies and problems: Data logging, data collection and data mining, high scale systems health intelligence around availability, reliability and scalability, data aggregation processing, analysis and diagnostic, and delivering great remedy solutions for issues or potential warnings.
About the position
You would join the team as a Program Manager http://blogs.msdn.com/techtalk/archive/2005/12/16/504872.aspx>. We are currently executing on the planning stage of the SharePoint 15 which is next release of the SharePoint 2010. Product cycle and beginning planning for the next wave. As a Program Manager, you would help make increasing contributions to our future SharePoint Manageability particularly intelligence about monitoring, diagnostic and troubleshooting. You would focus on the core system infrastructure of the product, including our new scale-out architecture and framework for health monitoring, troubleshooting and even auto-fix of issues, out-of-box reports and cross-reference and cross-data analysis for trend analysis and potential issues as well as working with our partners across SharePoint. You will be the voice of the SharePoint Manageability for our products and enable our customers to deploy highly relevant manageability solutions for their users.
To succeed in this role, you must have the ability to do a deep technical dive into the inner workings of a complex system AND the ability to recognize and design great user experiences. You must be a great problem solver and collaborator. Familiarity with server software, large-scale systems, interface design, and data analysis are a big plus. You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience shipping packaged or commercial software products or services in a program management or technical product management capacity.
Experience with information retrieval, data logging and mining, and other technology as well as prior management experience will be helpful but not required. You must have great communication and cross-group skills. And of course, you’ll need a passion for server and administration technology.
