Job Responsiblities:

1. Develop and maintain an environmental management plan in the site to ensure compliance with the company standard and law requirement.
2. Provide management and technical guidance of environmental initiatives in Nantong site.
3. Understand and manage the environmental legislation such as the license to operate, environment monitoring/reporting and clean production project etc. to enable the Syngenta’s freedom to operate
4. Lead the EIA in site to ensure the environment impacts are identified and robust and appropriate control measures are in place.
5. Enable training to employees to develop the understanding and skills of good environmental practice and waste management including the general E issues, housekeeping, minimizing programs, legislation, COPs, SOPs etc.
6. Participate in the PRA of new projects and provide expert advice on environmental pollution control measures and monitor to ensure compliance and understanding.
7. Ensure the pollution monitoring equipment is maintained in line with best industry practice and ensure meet Syngenta standards.
8. Response for the ISO14001 program in the site, which includes internal and external audit, environmental regulation assessment, environment impact factor identification and corrective and preventive actions etc.
9. Lead the regular environmental compliance review, monitor the trend and provide the accurate and appropriate environmental report to site management team. Recommend on appropriate measures to address non-compliant trends.
10. Undertake environmental internal audits in the site to drive the continuous improvement.
11. Conduct the audit to the waste contractors to ensure no off- site liabilities.
12. Conduct environmental incident investigation and provide the report with RCA.
13. Coordinate the waste/energy reduction program in site to reduce the environmental impacts.
14. Lead the self-assessment of any environmental code of practice to ensure the good implementation.
Prepare the environmental monthly/annual performance report and communicate it with stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

1. A minimum of 8 years’ experience working in the chemical, pharmaceutical or petrochemical manufacturing industry and at least 5 years’ experience on environment management.
2. Developing and conducting relevant environmental training
3. Ability and experience in liaising with regulators, employees and consultants
4. Experience with new chemical projects
5. Experience with environmental performance monitoring
6. Basic understanding of the hazard studies/process risk assessment
7. Conducting audits
8. Incident investigation and reporting
