This is a software engineering role within the NMSG Software R&D team based in Chengdu, China. The role will report into the local (Chengdu) PowerPC Software Technical Lead. It is a contributing role that involves daily technical activities associated with applications development on Freescale QE / QorIQ processors. The team will architect, develop, build and validate both microcode on QE and QorIQ architecture and the associated validation platform for Freescale Processors.
The key responsibilities are:
· Development, testing & verification, documentation and support of microcode and the associated driver, validation platform for Freescale PowerQuicc / QorIQ Processor.
· The generation/publishing of benchmark results and Application Notes that illustrates the performance available from Freescale PowerQuicc / QorIQ Processor.
· To provide technical support to internal/external customers in microcode, upper level software and application development
· To deliver technical training to internal/external customers.
· Able to work with cross functional teams from different regions during the development / validation process.
- Occasional travel to work at customer site is required
Qualifications
:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronic/Microprocessor Engineering, or similar discipline.
- Exposure to embedded software systems and/or embedded applications development.
- Solid understanding of communication systems, experience in networking technology such as broadband access and wireless market would be an advantage.
- A strong embedded software and operating system background, demonstrable Linux/RTOS knowledge is an advantage. Experience in Linux kernel-space programming is very desirable.
This role is one of technical contribution. Occasional availability to travel is desired although limited in frequency/duration.
