TITLE: Software Engineer
REPORTING TO: Technology and R&D manager
LOCATION: Beijing

I. Purpose of Position

As Veeder-Root’s top growth area, Veeder-Root China is building up its engineering R&D team to participate in global product development and customize products for China specific requirements. As software engineer, the candidate is responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting Veeder-Root Software solution for Petroleum Industry.

II. Key Responsibilities

1 Develop software solution for Petroleum Industry;
2 Support for member of the Quality Assurance group during test phases.
3 Perform maintenance activities for products already in production in addition to new product software design;
4 Coordinates with other departments to ensure the product performance goals are achieved to the client’s satisfaction

III. Relationships

1 This position will report directly to the Technology and R&D manager.
2 It also requires interaction with other software developers to complete project tasks. The developers are primarily in the same department. Depending on the complexity of testing, exchanges with system testers will be required.
3 Some development tasks are linked to teams worldwide and may require continuous interactions for a period of time.
4 The position will be interacting external vendors or customers as required

V. Background and Skill

1 BS or MS in Computer Science, Automation Control or equivalent education
2 Experiences on database such as Oracle, SqlServer or MySQL;
3 Proven C# or Java Programming;
4 Experiences on ASP.Net, JavaScript Web Development;
5 Experiences on OOD and Design Patterns;
6 Knowledge/Experience in the following areas is a plus:
-- ERP development;
-- XML, Web Service
-- Agile
