Purpose of the role:
The Specialist Sales Manager (SSM) adds value to Microsoft by directing and developing high-performing SSP (Solution Specialists) team who meet or exceed quota across all IO workloads/solution areas, improved customer/partner perceptions of Microsoft as a leader in Enterprise Solution Selling, Identify high-growth solution area to penetrate and drive repeatable solution.
Provides sales leadership in the development and implementation of customer solution strategy development. Insures that the MS solution selling methodology and profiling is adhered to. Manages both short and long term opportunities successfully to drive consistent sales results.
Leads Solution Specialist Professionals (SSPs) in a few provinces. Interacts with Provincial Lead and functional peer group managers (ATU, STU, BG, PTU) and virtual team members to drive positive results for customers, partners, and Microsoft.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Drive leading sales initiatives to achieve attainment in assigned enterprise accounts scope. Strong leadership style with solid strategy to over achieve team revenue and scorecard targets
Strong communication skills with ATUs, BGs, Regional GMs, and HQ teams. Driving integration and orchestration within the Leadership team
Good sales operation skill, has ability to build STU Operational processes and to track team’s productivity and revenue attainment. Conduct business reviews and opportunity pipeline management through pipeline velocity, opportunity ownership. Continuing to advocate/drive sales excellence with all Team Unit and Group Leads.
Leading a consistent and predictable business where team members are enabled to perform at their best, with proven track record on new vertical solution penetration. Developing high-performing STU teams and team members who are considered to be best sales assets in the market
Defining an STU business plan that contributes to the overall strategy and clearly shows an alignment to the ATU IO step movement plans. Providing a solution vision and leadership for customers and partners of Microsoft’s technology roadmap and the impact on the market, customers and partners.
Contributing to the partnering strategies and partner business planning through an all-up STU view of what partners and partnering needs best support the overall partner strategy.
Developing and retaining a highly specialized team of competitive sales assets, and maintaining a pipeline of hiring talent to meet growth needs.
Job Requirements:
Essential Experience:
Minimum of 10 years related working experience, Strong sales leadership, team management, solution selling experience preferred.
Proven track record to over achieve quota attainment, with ability to penetration new industry.
Proven track record to conduct Solution Selling to Enterprise customers.
Technical / Functional Skills:
Sales Management - previous experience leading teams with sales quotas/targets, using a sales management methodology on pipeline velocity, opportunity & process management.
People Management - previous experience managing people and their professional skills development; hiring, development and attrition experience with teams.
Organizational Change Management - experience in successfully implementing new organization models, including the change management aspects.
Industry Insight - knowledge of the tools and resources used by customers and their Lines of Business (e.g., financial metrics and statements, industry and analyst reports, executive dashboards, etc.).
Business Management - has experience running a P&L, with a discipline and rigor to the management of the business.
Personal Attributes / Interpersonal Skills
-Highly motivated leader with a mature and positive attitude. Very good interpersonal awareness and communication skill.
-Excellent English and Chinese verbal and written communication skills, with equally good listening and qualification skills.
-Ability on strategic thinking and to work in an ambiguous environment with multiple priorities and cross team engagement.
Qualifications
-Degree qualified (bachelor’s degree typically required, Master’s/MBA preferred).
-Additional sales or marketing qualifications centered on driving business value through the use of technology in multiple industry vertical markets would be beneficial.
