Summary
This position is responsible for the profitable promotion of the Portable Gas Detectors’, maintaining and building strong relationships with existing and potential customers, working with current distribution channels, identification and establishment of strategic distribution channels in the territory specified. To develop and implement strategies in line with corporate objectives including ethical conduct guidelines, target customers and strategic verticals.
1.Responsible for implementing and driving Scott’s core initiatives
2.Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
3.Present self in a professional manner at all times
4.Detail oriented with the ability to anticipate future outcomes of decisions.
5.Create a departmental environment that encourages learning and continual improvement.
To work closely with Scott Regional Management sales teams and distributor’s and to communicate fully in territory activity and outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:
1.Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
2.Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity.
3.Plan and manage business portfolio according to an agreed market development strategy. .
4.Interact and network within industry organizations, and other associations to maximize portfolio knowledge within the customer base and market knowledge within the business.
5.Plan/ support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
6.Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
7.Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
8.Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of colleagues, customers and equipment.
9.Assist sales channels in the implementation of company sales campaigns and promotional programs.
10.Conduct product informational and training seminars with sales channels inside/outside sales teams, and customer users to alert these customers of new Scott products and changes in applicable standards, regulations, legal requirements relevant to our products.
11.Submit information from sales channels and end users to assist the company in programs and product improvements to enhance Scott’s position in the marketplace as required.
12.Submit information from sales channels and end users to assist the company in resolving complaints, concerns and conferences providing liaison between sales channels and customer users.
Supervisory and Staff Relationships:
Work closely with all other field sales team members and sales leadership
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree from college or university or equivalent; and 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience of working within industrial markets, particularly in the POG sector, is of particular importance. Experience in portable gas detection products is preferred.
