The area: Partnerships
There's always more information out there, and our Partnerships team works to get it. We develop relationships with a range of organizations, from content providers to publishers, and find ways for them to reach their audiences and manage their digital businesses. We find great content for our products, and we also work with partner sites to syndicate our own Google products. From negotiating agreements to solving technical problems for partners, we're in pursuit of gathering the world's information.
The role: Large Publisher Solution Manager
Google's Publisher Business Solution (PBS) team plays a critical role in ensuring the continued growth of our company as well as that of our many partners; in fact, we drive a substantial portion of Google's revenue through strategic partnership with key players in the industry. We collaborate with a variety of internal business departments, prospecting and negotiating new partnership deals or managing, growing and enhancing our existing ones. Our mission is to help our partners to get the most out of the web by creatively and strategically leveraging Google's innovative search, applications, advertising and media platforms. As Large Publisher Solution (LPS) Manager of PBS team you provides exposure to multiple functional disciplines (e.g. product management, engineering, finance, legal, and operations). You will be working to acquire partnerships with top publishers such as portals, eCommerce, developers, media network, video platform, search engine, carriers, etc. In this role you will have the opportunity to: 'own' the publisher partnership strategy of Taiwan and execution for certain categories/verticals, negotiate complex partnerships, represent Google at industry events, present to senior management, and collaborate with product teams to evolve Google's offerings.
Responsibilities:
Own the partnership strategies and work directly with Country Manager to support the company’s business goal in China.
Source, structure, negotiate, and close large, strategic deals with top publishers such as portals, eCommerce, developers, media network, video platform, search engine, carriers, etc.
Manage existing partnerships and achieve ambitious goals with key partners.
Familiar with China market, lead research and conduct competitive analysis that helps to determine our partnership strategies.
Represent the company at industry events, which will include describing the benefits of working with Google to users, partners, and other industry players.
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
12 years of work experience.
4 years of related experience in the area of business development related to monetization of Internet business.
Preferred qualifications:
MBA or equivalent with 8 years of work experience
Proven experience in negotiating and closing strategic partnerships.
Strong understanding of the Internet media including mobile spaces, search engines, and online advertising players and business models. Understanding of China market is a must.
Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally . Ability to effectively think strategically and influence cross-functional teams, such as Legal, Technical Service, Product Development, and Engineering teams to resolve problems and to provide input into new features and products
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to operate with energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment
Penchant for technology and a visionary ability to identify new opportunities. Strong people management skills.
