Position Summary:

Plans and maintains R&D lab infrastructure and software. Troubleshoots and identifies the root cause of any issues reported by internal employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as a Lab administrator for handling R&D internal requests. Responsible for planning, purchasing, initializing, upgrading, extending and maintaining the lab/office equipment/licenses/software. Responsibilities include application, desktop, server, network, storage, power and associated hardware support. The position requires the use of advanced troubleshooting skills to define issues and isolate the root cause of any issues. Then be accountable to ensure that the issue is resolved or escalated in a timely manner as needed. Travels as necessary to support the technical infrastructure or lab environment at company events.

Core level Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or technical institute. In-depth knowledge of networking, storage, firewall, switch, operating system, database, virtualization and script languages.

Experience: (list minimum # of years for each)

· Industry – 3+ years of Lab management experience. Prior experience with networking and storage management required.

· Technologies -

o Lab management experience (firewall, switch, storage) (3+ years)

o Networking troubleshooting experience (3+ years)

o Database fundamentals (SQL) (3+ years)

· Platforms/Operating Systems – Understanding of operating system concepts and networking protocols. Includes Linux, Unix and windows. (3+ years of experience)

· Languages - Strong PHP programming and debugging skills (2+ years of experience)

Technical Skills:

· Linux system administration including DNS, DHCP, Apache, SSH

· Experience with several Linux distros (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, etc) and Windows

· Strong PHP, python or perl or Linux shell or powershell programming and debugging skills

· Knowledge of Ethernet local area networking including VLANs

· Knowledge of IP routing

· Knowledge of x.509 certificates, including PKI

· Experience using Network filers (NetApp; iSCSI, CIFS, and NFS)

· Experience using Mysql database

· Experience with Cisco UCS infrastructure

· Windows system administration including Active Directory

· Network analysis tools (wireshark, tcpdump, nmap, etc)

· Experience with Cisco/Brocade switches and firewalls

· Experience with upgrading server hardware (memory, NICs, HDs)

· Functional knowledge of cryptography.

· C/C++ or C# or Objective C or Java or python programming skills

· Knowledge of server virtualization (XenServer, ESX, Hyper-v)

· Experience with Perforce

· Experience with security-related software

· Experience in Web technologies such as SOAP, XML, ASP.NET, HTML5, JQuery, AJAX, JSON
