Position Summary:

Designs and develops software for the XenApp/XenDesktop suite of products. Troubleshoots and debugs software programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

As an LCM Software Developer you will isolate and correct customer reported defects in Citrix products. Superior debugging and problem solving skills are required. The fixes that you devise will be released to customers in the form of patches and service packs. The fixes will also be integrated into our future products. You will also be responsible for minor product enhancements typically with a development cycle of thirty days or less.

Create and maintain software for the Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop suite of products. May be involved in some or all phases of the software development and release cycle. These phases include research, conceptual planning, design, scheduling, coding, code reviews, troubleshooting and debugging, status reporting. Maintain a focus on customer requirements and project objectives while mitigating project and product risk. Must be self-motivated and be able to work in a team environment with limited supervision.

Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or technical institute. In-depth knowledge of software, operating system, networking, and programming language theories and concepts required.

Experience: (list minimum # of years for each)

· Industry – 3+ years of software development experience. Prior experience with shrink-wrap commercial software development required.

· Technologies -

· System level programming on Windows, Unix or Linux, or iOS/Mac, or Android (3+ years)

· Object oriented software design (3+ years)

· Multi-threaded design and development (3+ years)

· Platforms/Operating Systems – Understanding of operating system concepts and networking protocols. Knowledge and experience of operating system internals desirable. (3+ years of experience)

· Languages - Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills (3+ years of experience)

Technical Skills:

· Development - Strong C/C++ or C# or Objective C or Java. Developer is expected to thoroughly understand the programming language and be able to review new and old code for errors, security hazards, performance implications, and maintainability.

· Design – Experience with object oriented software design. Expected to exercise sound technical judgment and minimize risk.

· Debugging – Strong debugging and problem solving skills. Knowledge and experience using WinDbg/Xcode desirable.

· Documentation – Must be able clearly and concisely define technical issues.

Non-Technical Skills:

· Verbal Communication - Good English language verbal communication skills

· Written Communication - Strong English language written communication skills

· Problem Solving/Analytical Skills – Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills.

· Organizational Skills – Will be required to manage multiple tasks and multiplex effectively

· Motivation – Self-motivated and tenacious when tackling tough technical issues

· Leadership -- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead team initiatives

· Independence/Initiative – Able to work with limited supervision

Additional Skills – In addition to the above:

Pluses include:

· Experience with client / server system designs

· Experience in Web technologies such as SOAP, XML, ASP.NET, HTML5, JQuery, AJAX, JSON

· Microsoft Windows programming technologies such as Win32, WMI, COM/DCOM, .NET

· Knowledge about the Windows kernel programming environment

· Experience with internationalized software products preferred

· Experience with security-related software development

· Database fundamentals (SQL)
