Essential Responsibilities

- Provide complete electrical infrastructure support to the GE Water product line including enhanced control models and logic, product cost reductions and localization. Design work will include localizing to various country standards.
- Assure the electrical designing and programming of electrical & control systems for the water treatment process to meet platform product specification and that are adhere to applicable local and international standards (UL, CSA, CE, AS 3000).
- Assure all selection of instrument for water treatment process to meet platform product specification and project requirement, work closely with process design and mechanical design.
- Provide electrical & control system cost estimates and firm costing of designs.
- Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical perspective is properly conveyed.
- Principal duties include electrical control cabinet design, selection of instruments, programming PLCs and HMIs, field support and document creation/preparation. Documentation includes all necessary electrical wiring diagrams, PLC ladder logic, HMI graphics, Control Narratives, control logic chart, operation sequence chart and other supporting documentation necessary to adhere to platform product specifications during the submittal process and to ensure the correct interpretation for the manufacturing process.
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to complete routine tasks or resolve common problems.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance in support of activities involved in the sourcing, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and operation of platform equipment;
- Specification and selection of appropriate materials and components as appropriate to the design. This will require regular liaison with the Sourcing teams.
- All designs to take into account safety, functionality, operability, maintainability and economic cost principles.
- To assist with the establishment of cost estimates based on design, to participate design review, HAZOP's and other review as requested.

Qualifications/Requirements

- 5+ years of related experience in electrical & control design and troubleshooting.
- Tertiary education in engineering discipline preferably electrical or automation related.
- PLC and HMI programming experience with Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc products.
- Familiarize local and international engineering codes or standards.
- Must have competent AutoCAD skills and good technical writing skills.
- SAP experience and operation would be desirable
- Tertiary education in engineering discipline preferably electrical or automation related.
- Ability to adapt in a continuously changing environment.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Ability to travel when required.
