JOB FUNCTION:
With minimum supervision, monitor assigned operations to verify compliance with Engineering Specifications, Quality Assurance Standards and customer requirements. Document results of activities associated with inspection, auditing, and monitoring functions.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect all types of finished parts machined from castings and bar stock of various metals and alloys to ensure adherence to dimensional specifications shown on blue prints. Monitor assembly and testing operations to verify compliance with Engineering Specifications, Quality Assurance Standards and customer requirements. Perform functions relating to inspection, documentation, identification, coordination of disposition, processing and re-evaluation after rework on discrepant products, layout castings and forgings, and evaluate results for adherence to Engineering Drawings and Specifications for pattern approvals. All job duties specified under Production, Receiving, Assembly and Test, Rework/Scrap and first Piece Layout. Observe all safety procedures and policies. Maintain accurate documentation of all work preformed. Must cooperate and work well with co-workers. Communicate via email and phone in English.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIFICATIONS AND ABLILITIES:
Skill above average in inspecting machined parts and castings for quality or workmanship and adherence to specifications’ in use of close tolerance measuring devices; in reading and interpreting blue prints; in inspecting assembled products to conformance to specification; in the use of test facilities, experience in measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, height gauges, indicators, snap gauges, and in the setup and use of special measuring devices. Knowledge of inspection procedures; of company standards and policies; of manufacturing operations. Applicant should have knowledge of company products and company testing procedures. Previous experience in assembly is required. Testing to API and ANSI requirements is preferred. Must have knowledge of types of discontinuities associated with castings and forgings, and criteria for judging defects. Must have ability to interface with departments; to interface with outside personnel; to follow oral and written instructions; to sustain attention to detail; to exercise visual acuity, to use form special perception; to make technical decisions related to primary job functions. Must work with minimal or no direct supervision.
Must have minimum of high school diploma or GED, and a minimum of three to four years experience in inspection. Experience with CMM measuring machines and NDE Level II certification would be a plus. Fluent in both English and Chinese.
