Overview:

Compuware Gomez is seeking a strong interaction designer with visual design skills to expand the user experience design team. The designer will work closely with design colleagues, product managers, and developers to produce effective design solutions for our SAAS interfaces. Responsibilities include the design and documentation of information architecture, navigation, workflows, interaction design, and visual language systems.

Responsibilities:

o Leads the design effort in one or more design disciplines for a design project.
o Participates in design strategy sessions to generate ideas for solutions that meet user needs and goals.
o Leads design reviews.
o Works with product managers, developers and designers to define UI design requirements.
o Produces design concept documents and detailed wireframes to describe navigation schema, user tasks, and area flows for new product features or enhancements.
o Applies existing design patterns and visual specifications to new and existing products.
o Contributes to design patterns library.
o Maintains product design documentation.
o May design new visual language systems.
o May participate in user research studies.
o Assists with design QA.

Qualifications:

o Possesses time management, written and verbal communication skills
o Works within priorities established by manager
o Strong knowledge of basic visual design principles
o Strong color, typography, and layout design skills
o Understanding of user-centered design principles
o College-level experience or education in user experience design, interaction design, graphic design, information architecture, human factors, or a related field
o 3-5 years experience in user interface design for web-based software, mobile or technical web sites
o Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat
o CSS and HTML skills a plus
