职位描述

Project Director – Beijing

Due to our continued rapid expansion in Asia, we are now recruiting an experienced Project Director based in Beijing. Reporting directly to SAI Asia’s Vice President, your main roles and responsibilities include:

Project volume and accountability
? Project volume - undertake multiple projects concurrently
? Project accountability - has 100% accountability on assigned project assigned with no supervision required

Project design and planning
? Kick off meeting - prepare and lead the internal project kick off meeting with the team and external kick off meeting with clients
? Project work-plan - review project work-plan to provide input on breakdown of tasks, allocation of staff members and man-days/budget allocation
? Project data model sheet - develop and review project data model sheets to ensure they provide correct and detailed direction/guidance to the team
? Report template - develop and review report template to ensure it covers all aspects of project deliverables and provides detailed guidance to the team

Project research execution
? Secondary research in English - conduct research of English literature and extract useful information for the project team
? Field research - conduct select primary interviews to obtain critical insights and information
? Call report - review the first three-five key call reports to control the effectiveness of the questionnaire and interview results
? Conduct important face-to-face interviews with clients
? Research methodology - provide guidance/direction on research methodology to team members so as to achieve satisfactory research results efficiently

Report writing and analysis
? Report writing and value adding - review draft reports provided by the project team and complete the whole report for client. Use PowerPoint and Excel as key tools to create insightful analysis to the report
? Translation - translate reports from Chinese to English for market assessment projects
? Develop Overall Assessment, Strategic Recommendation and Executive Summary
? Quality control of final reports - quality control of final reports, ensuring accuracy of report content, business English used and correct report format

Project progress and time management
? Weekly project progress monitoring - actively monitor project progress on a weekly basis to ensure project tasks are completed as planned
? Project budget management – ensure the man-days used are in line with man-days budgeted. Actively provide solutions to project overrun and alert Supervisor when necessary

Client management
? Report presentation - present the reports/research findings to clients independently
? Client interaction - serve as key client liaison for the project duration
? Interact with clients and make clarifications where necessary
? Client expectation management - manage internal and external clients’ expectations on project scope and response time with diplomacy and professionalism

Post project responsibility
? Project follow-up - follow up project questions and necessary actions to meet client’s satisfaction. Close projects on time
? Post project employee evaluation - evaluate (Senior) Project Manager’s performance upon project completion
? Post project review meeting - organize and hold internal post project review meetings with project team members

People Management
? On-the-job coaching - identify training needs and provide coaching for (Senior) Project Managers
? Staff performance - drive staff performance to successful completion of projects. Actively monitor and manage team’s performance, attendance, workload and efficiency

Business Development
? Proposal - drive/close proposals
? Quote support - review and communicate quotes to proposal writers

Company-wide initiative
? Orientation training - contribute to delivery of production related orientation training to new joiners
? Production training - contribute to delivery classroom training to production staff members on industry knowledge, analysis tools or other areas of expertise
? SOP development - contribute to development of production SOPs to standardize/streamline internal processes


The ideal candidate should have the following attributes:

? 5 to 10 years experience in industrial market research, business consulting, or project management and the chemical industry is strongly preferred
? Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills in English, strong Chinese Speaking and reading ability is a must and ability to pick up technical terminology
? Fully self-sufficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel which will be heavily used as key tools to create insightful analysis for report development. Familiarity with statistical software and techniques a plus
? Proven ability to manage, mentor and motivate in a team environment to achieve results that meet/exceed client expectations
? Familiarity with primary research methodologies, tools and techniques
? Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently, frequently on tight timeframes and to short turnaround times
? Experience in Business Development including proposal preparation and key account management is advantageous
? University degree or an MBA, ideally in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences or equivalent technical or business field

We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience and opportunities for professional and personal growth. Initial job scope may be adjusted according to the successful candidate’s experience/qualifications. We may consider candidates with less experience for a more junior level position Senior Project Manager if suitable.
