GENERAL SUMMARY/PURPOSE

RealNetworks is seeking an energetic and highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead the software development, quality assurance and program management of RealPlayer Cloud, one of the world's most downloaded and used desktop PC media applications. In this capacity, he/she will be responsible for the development and QA teams for RealPlayer Cloud and related products on a global scale.

Qualifications include:
? 10 years of experience in software architecting and development, particularly related to desktop multimedia applications using Cloud Services on Windows Platforms
? At least 5 years of experience managing software teams
? At least 3 years of experience working in multi-national teams that reside partially in Beijing and partially in the United States
? Experience in using Scrum/Agile process is required
? Experience with Windows application development and automation tools is desired
? Must be creative, have strong problem solving ability, good verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver cutting edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
? Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
? Near native fluency in English

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions: % of Time
1. Managing senior team, processes, schedules for RealPlayer releases 25%
2. Development of a rapid-release software development lifecycle in order to support a 6 week product release cycle 25%
3. Collaborating the engineering tasks between Beijing and Seattle 25%
4. Cross-team Communication and management 15%
5. Investigating means for further process improvement 5%
6. Managing up and sideways 5%

Non-Essential Functions:
? Collaboration with Product Management in delivering progress reports
? Technical Due diligence related to new features and functionality


QUANTITATIVE MEASURES:
? Introduction of successful products and features.
? Consumer satisfaction with RealPlayer and other products
