Position Overview:
Executes a wide range of activities necessary to assure the integrity of each new product design and to evaluate the performance and reliability of printers and related products.
Adds customer satisfaction inputs and defect prevention measures to control and review processes for new product development, or modifications to existing products.
Responsibilities:
? Participates in all phases of the control and review of new product designs to assure:
？ The voice of the customer is included in the initial design considerations and objectives.
？ That potential defects are eliminated at an early stage in the design process.
？ That critical component and process capabilities are evaluated and included in the design process in order to assure the end result is a "robust" design, including reviewing designs for sources of potential failure and for manufacturability.
? Ensures that the appropriate design reviews are conducted and documented for each stage of the design process per Zebra quality procedures.
? Participates in development team meetings and decision making.
? Assists engineering in designing development tests ('designed experiments') and analyzing data to improve designs.
? Assists engineering to statistically analyze data from tests and capability studies.
? Reviews drawings for inspectability.
? Reviews 1st article inspection reports.
? Assists engineering in selecting critical inspection or control dimensions.
? Participates with engineering and test lab manager in the development of qualification test plans.
? Participates in part requirements discussions with suppliers.
? Participates in market readiness reviews for the release of new products, and prepare QA deliverables.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
? 3-5 years experience and training in engineering design and quality engineering
? Working knowledge, skill, and problem solving ability on personal computer based systems
? Knowledge and experience with spreadsheet and statistical software programs
? Effective verbal and written communication skills
? Detailed and numbers oriented
