Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensure regulatory compliance and SingTel Group Finance Policies and procedures;
2. Define compliance objectives for the organization and ensure effective compliance to mitigate the risks by ensuring compliance to agreements, contracts, SLAs, internal policies and procedures;
3. Manage Indirect tax assessments and tax refunds under Service Tax & VAT rules and ensure timely submission of refund claims, statutory returns under VAT, , Service tax rules;
4. Review of SOWs and legal agreements for vendor engagements from a compliance perspective;
5. Compliance on Asset Management i.e. Custom Clearance of imported assets, asset bonding, Asset tagging, Debonding, Inter Unit Transfer etc;
6. Ensuring physical verification of all the assets on a periodic basis;
7. Insurance Management for Company assets, employees and third party liabilities;
8. Compliances under Companies Act and filings with Registrar of Companies.(equivalent);
9. Handling operational reviews, tax filings & assessments;
10. Monthly closing, MIS reporting;
11. Budgeting;
12. Expertise in SAP;
13. Regularly communicates with customers regarding their needs and changes working methods/priorities to help them fulfil this need;
14. Proactively develops and implements methods to ensure they’re aware of customer satisfaction within their personal/team’s work;
15. Creates an environment where others are empowered to make timely decisions that deliver benefits for both customers and SingTel;
16. Looks at activity on the basis of its outcome rather than the delivery of specific tasks, changes team and individual activities to ensure outcome is achieved – is brave enough to include outcomes in personal goals;
17. Questions, challenges and provides input to business decisions; actively supporting and advocating the decisions even if they conflict with personal views;
18. Benchmarks personal/team performance against our competitors/peers to assess how we’re doing; developing and implementing plans to ensure that we match/exceed their performance levels;
19. Role models team leadership and management qualities – holds regular 1:1 sessions, provides useful feedback to team members, and resolves any issues;
20. Identifies and tackles poor performance quickly – utilising development opportunities, performance improvement processes, coaching/mentoring and exit processes;
21. Communicates with colleagues from other teams and other geographies regularly to share ideas and take input – uses input to improve team’s working methods and output, also improving inter-team working relationships;
22. Identifies areas where team’s activities duplicate or conflict with other teams; working resolve conflicts or remove duplication in a way that creates maximum benefit for the business.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Finance or Chartered Accountant;
2. Dealing with Government authorities like VAT, Service Tax, Income Tax etc;
3. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills;
4. Excellent Analytical skills;
5. In-depth knowledge of various laws and regulations applicable to DOT;
6. Experience in dealing with various indirect tax matters in terms of assessments, audits, tax refunds etc;
7. Experience in handling import shipments in terms of custom clearance, bonding, inter-unit transfers of capital goods;
8. Experience in internal audit would be an advantage;
9. Indepth knowledge of companies act and secretarial compliances applicable to the Company.
