JOB DESCRIPTION - A/R ACCOUNTANT
A. Job title / Job code / Reporting to :
AR Accountant - Hertz Rent A Car China, reporting to Hertz China Finance Manager
B. Job purpose (mission or "raison d'être")
The Accountant will be the liaison between the customer and Hertz in monitoring collections. Primary contact will be by phone. This role acts as the main liaison between the customer's A/P department and the company. Other roles are preparing statutory reports based on the Hertz management report.
The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the incumbent are to:
? Monitor aging accounts in regards to financial obligations to Hertz.
? Maintain close contact with sales representative to ensure customer is providing timely payment for services rendered.
? Report A/R status to controller, operations manager and director on a weekly basis.
? Extend and deny credit approvals for customers over credit limit.
C. Key-result areas (Major Accountabilities) (What is done and for what purpose)
? Reduce A/R collectibles.
? Maintain contact with customer to better understand their financial outlook.
? Keep log of customer contact in Rentalman to ensure proper history.
? Monitor and deal with credit issues by researching customers pay history and external factors.
? Review reports daily and use them to address issues with financial risk.
? Make the daily number of phone calls to customers required by Manager and log each call.
? Maintain close relationship with sales representatives to ensure proper understanding of customer.
? Be knowledgeable about A/R practices including proper customer contact.
? Conduct business safely.
? Maintain company standards in appearance, attendance, manner, ethics and professionalism.
? Ensure good information flow between customers and management through frequent communication.

F. Knowledge, skills and experience required

Educational Background:
University degree in Accounting or business.
Professional Experience:
2-3 years AR or GL accountant in similar roles is a must. Previous supervisory experience will also be beneficial in achieving the goals of this position. CPA certificate or study record (with some passed papers) is referred.
Knowledge:
? Strong ability to convey urgency while maintaining relationship and realizing customer needs
? Ability to plan and budget available company resources
? Awareness of risk factors associated with extending credit

? Basic written and oral English for daily cooperation with region management.
