Position Purpose:
As a member of the China SBD Core Leadership Team contribute to setting the China SBD business strategy and strategic targets.
Responsible for leadership, strategy and management of the Staples China SBD IB(Guangzhou) & OB(Guangzhou) business, including the strategy and strategic targets for the SBD operating model, including but not limited to the organization structure, creating a learning organization, the processes and policies, the people management strategies, the performance management tools supported by a great set of KPI's that form the balanced scorecard for Guangzhou SBD (IB & OB).
Provides leadership to Guangzhou SBD (IB & OB) in such a way that critical annual targets like engagement scores, turnover, CSAT, sales growth, operating and G&A expenses and AOP are met in absolute and bps terms.
Hire, train, develop and coach a world class Guangzhou SBD (IB & OB) team capable of meeting the strategic targets.
Identify and implement best practices and continuously stimulate cross-channel exchange of these best practices as well as importing them from external sources.
A well-documented and communicated SBD strategy and business plan for all the regions within China in line with Staples China overall strategy.
Sales for the SBD divisions are 45 m $. This should grow in the next 5 years to 400 million $. Target AOP rate to be 4-6% AOP. The SBD business should be RONA positive.
Hire, train, coach and develop the SBD team in such a way that engagement scores reach more than 80% and turnover rate is in line or better than the Chinese SBD competition.
Solid talent pool, talent bench and succession planning in place for SBD leaders.
Accountable for the continuous improvement and attainment of budget and strategic targets in our critical customer service metrics such as CSAT, perfect order, customer retention and repurchase rates.
Accountable for the continuous improvement and attainment of budget and strategic targets in sales growth, margin and margin rate, operating expenses, G&A costs and AOP both in absolute terms as in bps.
The implementation of Guangzhou SBD IB and OB organization structure, people, performance management tools, customer contact centre network, systems, metrics, policies and procedures.
Maintain the highest levels of business integrity and ethics, being a role model for the team in terms of staples values.
Identify and leverage best practices from the different BU's in China, International and Global.
Ensure the SBD IB & web channel works effectively with the other channels in Staples China;
Job Responsibilities:
Strategy Development, Management and Implementation - 20% of time
· Working in conjunction with the SBD Core Leadership Team, responsible for developing the SBD strategy .
· Participated in the Determination and implementation of the operating model for SBD IB and Web business within China with elements such as : organizational development, people, policies and procedures, systems, processes and performance management tools (KPI's, evaluations, bonus schemes,..).
Support to complete the specification of and changes to all SBD systems (ERP, CRM, Call center system, Web).
Functional Leadership 60% of time
· Direct Guangzhou SBD IB and OB teams: around 40 people.
· Manage key processes related to SBD such as customer contact centre design, new web designing, sales management, ops and management (Inbound,web), order to cash.
· Participate in definition of common IB and OB KPI's within SBD. Follow the reporting which is compliant with China SBD.
· Develop an annual operating plan listing all the initiatives needed to reach the agreed annual budget targets. Manage on an on-going basis the communication with the teams to follow up on the progress and to help the teams to achieve their targets.
· Manage customer retention as well as increasing the share of wallet of existing customers.
· Responsible for identifying and sharing best practices.
Organisational Development - 20% of time
· Drives the establishment of a world class SBD IB & OB management team.
· Works out the job descriptions, profiles and competencies - together with HR for the leadership jobs both centrally and regionally.
· Advises and participates in the build-up of grading and salary bands within the IB and OB Guangzhou SBD teams. Works closely together with HR and SBD core management to design the most effective bonus scheme for the different jobs and teams.
· Responsible for the hiring, induction and coaching and performance managing the associates.
· Manages the annual evaluation process rigorously and develops together with HR a personal development plan for his direct reports and his critical talents.
· Organises continuous learning environment with regular benchmarking within China and other Staples Operations around the globe or other industries.
· Responsible for developing and delivering training programs that are specific to SBD IB and OB.
· Together with HR assure that Guangzhou SBD IB & OB is a great place to work. Measure the engagement scores regularly and build action plan when appropriate.

Requirements:
Bachelor degree;
Proven experience of advanced people management skills
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Extensive call center and e-commerce leadership experience in a "best in class" environment.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art thinking and best practices in multi-channel mgmt.
Experience in managing P&L
Significant business and managerial experience
Extensive retail and online experience both in B2B and B2C;
Working experience in multinational matrix organization;
Cross-channel management experience;
Familiar with implementing new systems and setting up new operating units.
