职位描述

Given the increased focus on Consumer and Retail within APAC this role has been established as a full time position covering all sales channels (CL&D as well as FF) in this important region. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of UTi in APAC, but also has a significant impact on our future success via our global vertical strategy.

Background
As part of our mid and long term strategy UTi is currently increasing the focus on specific industry verticals with Consumer and Retail being one of the key verticals on a global basis, the main expected shareholder values and business impacts required are:
Growth through an effective industry focus, generating additional NR in line with company expectation and ensuring an improved multiple return in new net revenue vs the total cost of the associated dedicated regional automotive team
Focus on selling UTi’s full service offerings, but focus particular on integrated solutions both from FF and CL&D
Generally improved margins
Long term revenue stream as result of client centricity, long term relationships, single global client contact point and addressing client & industry pain points
Sustainable competitive advantage via industry specific skills (IP), experience and solutions, generally unique selling proposition/differentiators and client advisor in all supply chain issues
Deliver superior quality and information to clients
Maintain and Enhance market leadership in supply chain management and client centricity
Quantified annual budget and mid-to-long term regional Consumer and Retail business plan that is aligned with the regional budget/business of APAC and the global Consumer and Retail vertical

Requirements
We are looking for a strong leader and integrator with a level of business acumen and an excellent track record based on 10 years of business development, logistics consulting, innovative logistics concept development or logistics operations experience within the Consumer and Retail industry.
In depth Consumer and Retail industry knowledge and expertise
Client driven, high reputation with clients
Relationships with some of the major players in the industry
Strong business dev. skills and contractual knowledge within automotive logistics services
Contract logistics and distribution
Freight forwarding and customs clearance
Sales and Operational exposure, can develop (Growth) but also deliver (P&L)
Broad view on supply chain developments and state-of-the-art services and technology
concept development skills for innovative logistics solutions
Process oriented, focused on Integrated Solutions
Strong intercultural skills
Different business assignments, in more than one country/continent
Fluent in English, second language (Chinese) preferably
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication
Strong negotiator with cultural awareness
Integration capabilities and proven track record
Strong team player, focus on value delivery
Collaborative Leadership of virtual teams, matrix organizations, senior managers
Integration of business units or countries
Combining high-level thinking with operational “hands-on” mentality
Ability to deal with conflict (internally and externally)

Frequent domestic and occasionally international traveling required

University education preferably with additional MBA and logistics subjects

General responsibilities for Regional Vertical Leaders at UTi
The Regional Vertical Leader has the responsibility to lead and advise business development activities as well as support implementation activities in all areas related to the industry vertical. This includes (but could include more):
New Business Growth and Client / Business Retention
Alignment with Global Sales and Area Sales
Drive / Support Solutions Design, Pricing and proposal generation
Develop own client portfolio and be accountable for personal NR growth targets
Deliver average return of 7.5 new net revenue x total cost of the dedicated team plus the leaders own cost
Global / Regional client relationship
Executive sponsorship
C Level relationships with strategic clients maintained
Drive and attend quarterly review sessions with key clients
Markets and Client development
New strategic markets
New strategic clients
Services and product offering
Strategy development for the Vertical and future direction to UTi
Strategic planning sessions
Annual strategic and financial plans
Mid and long term strategy as part of CLIENTasONE
Strategy implementation and fulfillment
Industry information and knowledge transfer to UTi staff operating within other service lines
Act as Subject Matter Expert for major project implementations and UTi business units (countries, regions, service line)
Support the development of Quality Management Standards and other guidelines within sales, implementation and operations
In accordance to the industry vertical specific strategy and business plan, industry verticals might lead or support initiatives around marketing, sales, continuous improvement activities and teams or have responsibility for related subsidiaries
Lead, develop and grow the people in Consumer and Retail vertical
Provide required leadership, motivation and direction
Manage the regional virtual teams to be successful in the Consumer and Retail market
Industry verticals teams include dedicated, virtual or shared resources
Work closely with SDi
Facilitate regular team workshops and feedback sessions
Facilitate and participate in local and global War Rooms, where appropriate
Collate and monitor revenue / Pipeline reports for Consumer and Retail clients across the various business units to measure vertical performance and the vertical future outlook
The regional leader should drive the process to share, communicate and ensure best practices throughout the region but also on a global level. The regional vertical lead should be value driven and hence be able to contribute in all decisions potentially affecting the industry / client that are of a strategic nature.

Organization
This role has to be performed in a framework of the current matrix structure of UTi which requires a high level of integration and internal selling and build relationships with key UTi players – local and global
This regional vertical role will have matrix reporting lines into the regional sales organization in APAC and the global Consumer and Retail vertical lead.

The regional automotive lead will have all DCS’s dedicated to Consumer and Retail as reporting solid line into this role. The other DCS’s with cross vertical client portfolio and local sales representatives will have to be integrated utilizing the required collaborative management skills for this role as regional vertical lead

The position should be preferably located in Hong Kong or Shanghai.
