Position: Numerical Simulation, CAE Engineer

JOB OBJECTIVES: CAE Engineer, Numerical Simulation
· provide simulation services to support Cellasto Application Development and Operations
· fast and direct, regional services for Cellasto Engineers at BAPS
· extension of global capacity for simulation services Cellasto
· transfer of Know-How between BAPS and BPD

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

use computer aided analysis for design and optimization of Cellasto parts, of assembled parts, of testing devices or of molding tools, mainly by structural analysis with Finite Element Method (FEM)

provide internal consultancy regarding design and construction of assembled parts (plastics or metals) including material choice and manufacturing process (e.g. injection molding, forming, die casting)

provide internal consultancy for regional Cellasto engineers regarding application of simulation methods or interpretation of analysis results

contact person for regional customers regarding questions on simulations

contact person to regional suppliers of special simulations services, evaluation of suppliers and quality control

local user support for in-house CAE-tools, e.g. ‘Cellasto Development Platform’

operation of local CAE infrastructure (soft-/hardware), updates & maintenance in cooperation with Cellasto simulation team

exchange of experience within Cellasto simulation team and BASF simulation community

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Computational Engineering

Working Experience: at least 3 years of experience in application of Finite Element Method (FEM) for structural analysis in automotive industry or at an automotive supplier

Technical and Professional Knowledge: Engineering background, experience in Applied Mechanics and Engineering Design, in Numerical Methods, very good skills in Computer Technologies and basic knowledge in software development, in-depth experience with at least one FEM software and 3D CAD software (preferred MSC.Marc, MSC.Patran and Creo Elements), comprehensive knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, conversant with MS software;

Good skills in English (written and spoken) as well as in technical documentation and presentation.
