Summary:
The primary responsibility is to convert his or her experience, knowledge, insights, and analysis into sustainable, profitable IHS services. Marketing IHS and himself/herself as an expert with professionalism is essential to this role. The Senior Chemical Analyst should also endeavor to build and nourish relationships with key industry contacts that utilize or could benefit from IHS services.
The Senior Chemical Analyst are the primary interface with clients and, as such, play an integral role in every aspect of this relationship. This includes advising, marketing, product development, client support.


Job Description
Essential Functions:
1. Conduct market research and write chemical market reports for the Chemicals Economic Handbook (CEH) and Specialty Chemical Update Program (SCUP) per scheduled.
2. Become a recognized specialist for the specified product areas in terms of renewables, bio-chemicals and nutrients.
3. Write in-depth industry reports on chemical products (particularly about renewables and nutrients) by communicating industry resources, reading relevant industry news, examining analytical trends, and attending industry conferences in the area of specialization.
4. Communicate with industry representatives both in person and via the telephone.
5. Communicate with internal and external clients, and provide expert knowledge in area of specialization.
6. Answering internal inquires and clients’ inquires those relevant to the responsible studies on a regular basis.
7. Support colleagues in the Business Consulting group with expert knowledge in the area of specialization.
8. Work effectively as part of a global, multi-disciplinary team i.e. marketing/ sales, and help provide best services to internal and external customers.


KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher level in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Nutrients or related subject.
2. Five or more year's working experience in Chemicals industry/Chemicals market research, that facilitates an understanding of chemical value chain of the area of specialization and parameters that determine the market dynamics of a chemical products.
3. A thorough understanding of the specified Chemical products in terms of: properties; functions; production process; potential replacement substances; regulations associated with chemical products. A conceptual understanding of how natural resources, political stability, and labor influence regional and global markets.
4. Communicating internationally with both internal and external clients in other world regions in multiple time zones effectively.
5. Pronounced communication skills that allow for the gathering of relevant information from product specialists, marketing and upper management professionals in the chemical industry, associations, and governmental bodies.
6. Ability to work effectively within a team environment, with an openness to exchange information and methodologies. Cooperatively work across the organization at multi levels to efficiently and effectively utilize the resources and knowledge base available in a team approach.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
8. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
9. Ability to travel (Including international travel)
