Position title: Research Manager
Position Overview:
Research Managers in the Legal, Economic & Regulatory Affairs practice are responsible for managing and executing primary research deliverables that focus on legal, economic, political, regulatory, financial, and accounting topics. In this case, the Research Manager would be serving as a deputy to the EMEA Practice Leader and be responsible for helping to grow the practice, executing on client research requests, and establishing and cultivating relationships with experts across
China.

Key Responsibilities:
THE COMPANY Research Managers in our client-facing offices responsible for:

Facilitating educational interactions between members of the company expert network and our clients, to permit our clients to make more informed and more confident investment decisions. Research Managers are tasked with fulfilling time-sensitive research requests by analyzing client requests, and building and qualifying primary populations of topic experts. Most of the company’s client – expert interactions consist of telephone consultations but also may consist of surveys, research travel programs, and in-depth engagements.
Enhancing the company Councils. Developing relationships with former governmental and regulatory officials, economists, senior legal professionals, and policy and accounting experts, as well as recruiting new individuals to the company expert network through research, networking, and direct outreach.
Growing company client relationships. Developing relationships with company clients, who are primarily lead investment professionals across Europe. This relationship development will stem from in-person client meets, project execution, and telephone interactions.
Programming and presenting live meetings. Client-facing Research Managers are responsible for organizing and hosting small group conversations between company experts and company clients. These meetings will involve the coordination of both our senior-most client users, as well as senior LERA experts, such as former heads of state.
Team-wide collaboration. As with any senior position in a company client office, Research Managers are expected to help mentor and manage junior colleagues, especially those colleagues in our operations offices with whom they are collaborating. They also work closely with our Sales and Business Development team and other sector-specialized Research Managers to develop customized products for company clients.
Through live meetings, other client interactions, and high quality execution on specific client requests, Research Managers are expected to cultivate close relationships with and emerge as thought partners to company’s LERA clients in the asset management, professional services, and corporate segments.


Required Skills:
2 to 5 years relevant experience, ideally with experience in policy, economic or legal work in Washington, DC or Brussels, Belgium
Successful track record working in complex multi-task oriented team environments
Outstanding communication skills and willingness to conduct telephone outreach to senior experts in the law and policy spaces
Consistent following of geo-political developments
European Union work permit preferred
