JOB SPECIFICATION – EMS MATERIAL MANAGER US SBU
JOB TITLE: EMS Material Manager US BU
Reporting to: SCM Manager US SBU (Satellite, Cable, Telco)
Job purpose:
Overall responsibility for all aspects of material management for *** and its manufacturing partners in line with *** customer demand and at the required time to market. Key communication point between US SBU SCM team, the nominated EMS Partner and raw material vendor driving all material management activities on a defined regular basis. Developing and implementing material supply chain strategies to support the growing business needs of the Customer Account Teams. Driving performance improvements through common and agreed key performance indicators. Proactively managing and reducing material related cost of non Performance.
Principal responsibilities:
1. Weekly/Monthly/ Quarterly tracking and management of material clear to build status for all builds planned at the EMS partner, resolving material shortages as and when they occur using the most appropriate escalation means.
2. Ownership and management of the financial reconciliation aspects for all PPV, ECO, E&O and EOL impacts from the EMS ensuring that the costs are in line with the company targets.
3. Support quarterly reconciliation meetings with the EMS partner resolving planning and material Excess and Obsolescence issues ensuring financial material exposure to *** is managed to company expectations.
4. Support monthly S&OP/Business planning reviews providing supporting data to feed in to the review packs.
5. Provide regular, as a minimum quarterly, on site materials support, audit and direction for each of the EMS sites that fall under their responsibility.
6. Support internal and external meetings to ensure material supply chain processes, projects and initiatives are met in line with company and supply chain strategy.
7. Pro active risk management and development of flexibility solutions to alleviate or mitigate material lead time constraints.
8. Drive performance improvements with the EMS partner through agreed and defined KPI’s ensuring performance is in line with *** expectation.
9. Material simulation (sizing, “what if”) management and reporting
JOB TITLE: EMS Material Manager US SBU
Knowledge and experience:
1. The appointee will bring with them experience in a fast moving/flexible Supply Chain environment (preferable from a high tech/electronics area)
2. Detailed knowledge of forecasting techniques, methods of inventory control and inventory strategies and applications.
3. The appointee will bring evidence of ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team
4. The appointee will need to have the flexibility to travel globally on a regular basis to visit internal and external customers/suppliers.
5. The appointee will have sound financial knowledge from working in a supply chain environment
6. The appointee must have outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally to the company.
7. Knowledge of MRPII / ERP systems (Oracle preferred) & Microsoft Excel
8. Experience of communicating with offshore colleagues and suppliers/partners.
9. Good verbal and numerical reasoning skills
10. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification (preferred)
