Job Requirements

Successful candidate will report to Sr. TDC Director or Engineering manager and collaborate with local Sales/FAE to support customers: make custom design proposals, deliver fast turnaround prototype samples, get customer approval and design win. Technical challenges include PCB/FPC glass and PET capacitive sensor design, understanding PCB design and manufacturing process, design for manufacturability and assembly, and negotiating technical specifications with customers. Strong capability of board level as well as debugging.

· Work with FAE/Sales to understand customer application requirements

· Work with mechanical and firmware engineers to implement Synaptics Human Interface solutions into customer applications

· Analyze customer system requirements and recommend design solutions

· Perform schematics design, simulation to optimize design performance

· Perform product deficiency analysis and recommend corrective actions

· Troubleshooting prototypes from system level, which include digital and analog electronics, mechanical, firmware and software perspective.

· Work closely with PM, ME, Testing, QA, FW to ensure the on-time delivery of projects with good quality.

· Also work with marketing and sales to provide technical support to pre-sale activities with customers.

· Validate the final design to ensure meeting customer requirements and Synaptics quality standards

· Work with USA/Taiwan layout team to manage design library and revision control tasks

Qualification Requirements

· Organized, open, and articulate personality. Willing to go beyond his/her job description to help the project and team

· Strong verbal and written communication skill in both English and Chinese

· BSEE or MSEE with 3 to 5 years analog/digital circuit design and ASIC experience

· Strong circuit debugging skill

· Experience in firmware design of embedded system is a strong plus

· Experience in mixed-signal system design and low-noise circuit troubleshooting and also important

· In-depth knowledge of microprocessor architecture and operations

· Experienced in layout design tool and schematics capture software (PADS preferred)

· Understand PCB/FPC fabrication and assembly manufacturing process

· Familiar with local Senor, PCB, FPC and SMT/COB assembly suppliers

· Experience in working with cross functional team to implement system design

· Project management experience will be helpful
