Outsourcing Solution Architect
Introduction
Outsourcing services is a key growth area for Avanade globally. Our regional outsourcing teams work with our global delivery centres to define and deliver world class managed service solutions for our clients. The role of the Solution Architect involves the definition of service solutions against defined client requirements. Our successful Solution Architects have a breadth of knowledge and experience, including:
* Experience of working in pre-sales roles, working within new business teams and with a variety of clients.
* Detailed knowledge of outsourcing service and delivery models, including global and distributed delivery models
* Experience of specifying, developing and integrating outsourcing or managed services, including:
* Primarily Application Management Services
* Infrastructure Management Services a bonus
* Experience of estimating and costing outsourced services and of populating cost models and validating costing data and assumptions.
* Experienced in the development of sales proposals.
* Experience of Service Introduction and/or Service Transition
Role of the Solution Architect
The Solution Architect will be accountable for defining outsourcing or managed service solutions, for specified new and existing customers within the region. This will entail discharging a wide range of responsibilities, including:
* Working within a new business team to interpret client defined or implied requirements against Avanade solution templates and delivery capabilities.
* Engaging with client stakeholders and other knowledgeable resources to validate service requirements, explore solution options and identify service integration requirements.
* Leading the definition of a Service solution that meets the agreed requirements.
* Working closely with Avanade (glob al) delivery teams and third parties to realise service estimates in accordance with the Avanade Estimating Model (AEM) guidelines.
* Identifying all service costs and populating cost models accurately to ensure a full visibility of costs related to establishing and delivering the service over the contract term.
* Creating and documenting a Solution Plan and engaging internal stakeholders as required to populate the Avanade ‘Deal Review System’ and support an internal sign-off (at regional, area and global levels) of costs and risk.
* Identifying and mitigating solution risks.
* Supporting the development of a priced service proposal for client submission.
* Supporting sales activity in presenting our solution approach and methods to client stakeholder groups.
* Planning for and supporting service implementation, service transition, and, service introduction activities.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Avanade service line and business development personnel.
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with delivery centre solution architects and contributing the Avanade outsourcing solution architects community.
Characteristics and experience required
The job holder will be an experienced professional and will be able to demonstrate many of the following skills, capabilities and qualities:
* Domain Knowledge: Experience and understanding of outsourcing service constructs, able to define and evaluate solutions options and variants to realise a value based solution.
* Numeracy, Analysis: comfortable working with estimating, costing and pricing models. Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to analyse client provided data.
* Communication skills: demonstrates a structured and considered approach to written and oral communication. Able to communicate potentially complex solutions to less technical people.
* Service Contracts: knowledge of outsourcing service contractual constructs, experienced in the development of contract schedules.
* Team Player: proven ability to work within a team, contributing to the success of the team while making a personal contribution. Provides leadership when appropriate
* Deals with Ambiguity: able to define solution elements even when all the required information is not available. Realises and documents reasonable assumptions.
