Reporting:

The Controller of Lakeland China will report directly to GM, China and the Vice President – Finance, Lakeland Industries.

The Controller Lakeland China will have administrative and accounting/finance staff reporting into him/her and will be responsible for these functions.

The Controller will work closely with, the Chief Financial Officer, (CFO), treasurer, manufacturing managers, sales managers and other Lakeland personnel as projects may require. Additionally he/she will periodically work with Controllers and accounting personnel from other Lakeland divisions developing consistent systems to support manufacturing, logistics, and costing between international markets.

Responsibilities:

1. Reports to GM, Lakeland China and Vice President – Finance, Lakeland Industries
2. Directly responsible for the management of the assets of Lakeland China, receivables, payables, inventory, fixed assets and costing systems.
3. Responsible for the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
4. Statements in under both local generally accepted accounting procedures and U.S. GAAP.
5. Will assure that U.S. GAAP financial reports are translated into English.
6. Will be responsible for providing reasonable checks and balances to assure the accuracy of financial reporting and coordinate internal audit program.
7. Will be directly responsible for senior accounting personnel.
8. Work with manufacturing and accounting to develop and communicate product costing for China to sales personnel and management.
9. Must possess strong management skills – the ability to maintain independence while working with senior management in both China and the U.S.
10. Must maintain high standards of ethics and provide support to senior management.
11. Must be able to work effectively with internal and external auditors as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Education: College/University Degree (4 yr. minimum)

2. Work Experience:

1. Minimum 6 years experience in accounting for a manufacturing operation.
2. 4 years experience personnel management desired but not required
3. Experience in multiple areas of corporate management is preferred but not a requirement.
4. Prefer some work experience with multinational company

3. Must have a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

4. Proficient in preparation of financial statements.

5. Excellent Excel skills

6. Language skills:

1. Excellent English and Chinese– fluent, written and orally in both
2. Ability to comprehend and convey financial information in both languages
3. Ability to read and comprehend contracts and financial statement documents

7. Excellent organizational skills

8. Excellent interpersonal skills

9. Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Job Requirements:

1. Travel:

1. Must be willing and able to travel as much as 25% of time
2. Weekend travel may be required periodically for travel to the U.S. or other Lakeland facilities
3. Must be willing to travel by air and train
4. Valid passport
5. International travel may be required (U.S., Europe)
