Position: Network Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Description / Working Relationships
The Network Manager will work closely with Director of IT, vendors and the team to ensure a robust network infrastructure and a stable network environment are provided to support teaching and communication needs among students, teachers and parents at Keystone Academy. Therefore, to focus on students learning and to provide excellent educational opportunities at Keystone Academy. The Network Manager is expected to:
1. Have a good over view on the needs of Keystone Academy network.
2. Responsible for organizing, directing and administering Keystone Academy network, network applications and system in cloud in order to efficiently and effectively satisfy the needs of Keystone Academy network.
3. Responsible for network system design, planning, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, oversight and training.
4. Lead network supervisor and administrators to configure, optimize and manage all the network systems.
1) Internet connection, 3rd and 2nd layer switches, WLAN controllers, iSCSI storage etc. network components.
2) Plan for VLAN, IP addresses, SSO, BYOD and NAC.
3) Setup and manage DHCP, DNS, Web etc. network services.
4) Manage AD, security groups, permissions, Radius, network access control, Firewall, ACL, anti-virus, anti-spam, SSL certificates etc. security measures.
5) Manage Exchange, SQL, file, print, streaming, backup/restore server etc. network services.
6) Manage VoIP, IP speaker, IP clock, IP camera, door access control, network projector etc. applications or appliances on IP network.
7) Maintain patches and software updates, distribute OS image, applications to Apple and Windows clients.
8) Ensure network is healthy and foresee issues by using network monitoring and management system etc. e.g. monitors the free space of OS partition on each server.
9) Supervise cabling, IDC and distributed UPS etc. equipment in telecommunication risers etc. network infrastructure.
5. Create procedures and guidelines to ensure the security of all network systems, and the confidentiality of all data residing on Keystone Academy network.
6. Perform change management, and conduct test prior to the proposed upgrade or change to ensure the result is as expected.
7. Responsible for IDC infrastructure, includes usage monitoring, problem fix, budget propose etc.

8. Design and manage scheduled backup/restore works, ensure backup/restore works are being conducted and as expected. Establish contingency plans in case of emergencies including power cuts, system faults and equipment damage. 9. Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation, includes,
1) Network Topology
2) Inventory of all equipment on network, cabling details, all servers and storage devices
3) Physical servers and virtual machines running on it.
4) Configurations
5) User manuals
6) Step by step setup instruction for network equipment and network applications.
7) System, configuration change and event logs on network.
8) Procedures
10. Manage equipment license to ensure license capacity on network devices and application servers are adequate.
11. Develop and maintain good relationships with all vendors and service providers.
12. Provide timely communication to users and Keystone Academy administration of the network status including notice of scheduled or un-scheduled downtime etc.
13. Make recommendations to the Director of IT for improvements to Keystone Academy network and applications.
14. Test, evaluate and propose new products and systems that will benefit Keystone Academy.
15. Monitors use of all network systems and resources, and reports any misuse and/or abuse.
16. Coordinates and/or conducts periodic user training related to Keystone Academy network systems.
17. Provides assistance to the Director of IT in the annual IT budgeting related to Keystone Academy network systems.
18. Supervises and evaluates the network supervisor and network engineers.
19. Performs other duties as directed by the Director of IT that are not consistent with the qualifications and skills required for this position.

Qualifications:

2. Fluent Chinese and English in oral and writing.
3. Extensive skills on Windows, Apple and Linux. Wide range of experience with a variety of software, programs, etc.
Preferred Experience:
1. A minimum of 5 years successful hands on work experience of a recent similar position, and working in an institution of a similar size and scope to Keystone Academy.
2. Proved experience on network and application setup detailed in responsibilities.
3. Strong system level trouble shooting skills based on great understanding and solid knowledge of,
1) TCP/IP and 7 layers’ applications.
2) Packets capturing and analyze.
