PURPOSE:

?To translate legal content from simplified Chinese to English (or vice versa), as required
?To proofread materials translated from Chinese to English (or vice versa) prior to publication, ensuring that language of the content is at a professional, native level.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

?Process approximately 3,000 characters per day when translating;
?Perfect English language content to remove flaws in spelling, grammar, clarity and elegance of expression, process 5,000 – 6,000 words per day when proofreading (measured against words in the source text);
?Work according to specified office hours, complete and deliver daily assigned work before 5:30pm Beijing time;
?Other tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge & Qualification
-University degree, major in law/ in English
-Overseas legal background prefer
-Journalism background advantageous

Competencies:
-Proficiency in both Chinese and English
-Chinese at native level
-English at excellent level, both in written and spoken
-Sufficient legal knowledge in PRC law

Experience:
-Translation experience preferred
