1) The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer is in the development of new products and transition into full production.
2) During the Design Phase, work with Design Engineers to insure all process and manufacturing issues are addressed up-front. The Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for all manufacturing drawings, process flow charts, set-up drawings, assembly drawings, and tooling/fixturing drawings. The Manufacturing Engineer must have the ability to accurately and completely document their designs in a manner that can be communicated clearly too qualified individuals with minimal margin for interpretation errors.
3) If the product is designed by the supplier, or developed jointly with the supplier, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to ensure that all requirements are met and processes are capable.
4) During the Design Phase, the Manufacturing Engineer is expected to work directly with suppliers, and other relevant parties, to ensure the components, sub-assemblies, and final product can be consistently produced to the defined requirements.
5) During the Tooling Phase, the Manufacturing Engineer will work with suppliers to ensure the tools and/or equipment are capable of consistently providing components that meet the design requirements.
6) During the first-off-tooling stage the Manufacturing Engineer is expected to be at the supplier to evaluate manufacturing techniques, assembly methods, parts, fixtures, tooling, recommend tooling modifications, and test parts/product to ensure the product meets all requirements in order to approve the tooling.
7) During the production start-up phases, the Manufacturing Engineer will support the suppliers with quality and technical assistance to ensure the final product consistently meets the previously defined requirements.
8) The Manufacturing Engineer is totally responsible to drive out the variation by improving the processes in Zebco products.

Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
13) Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their capabilities, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to NPD Engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
14) The Manufacturing Engineer must be able to present and train vendor base on best practices of above mentioned.
15) Once a product is in production, the Manufacturing Engineer should be aware of the products successes and / or failures in the marketplace by working with Design Engineers and evaluating defective product. If issues are discovered that create unsatisfied customers in the marketplace, the Design and Manufacturing Engineers must work together to identify root causes and ensure the nessacary design and/or manufacturing changes are identified and implemented to correct the problems.
16) The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for researching and developing innovative ideas for new manufacturing techniques.
17) The Manufacturing Engineer is required to maintain accurate, complete, and current documentation (PRO-E model files, drawings, engineering part lists, product artwork, specifications etc.) on the assigned projects. Changes must be documented, approved, implemented, and appropriately conveyed to all affected parties.
