Application Specialist, APM
Reporting to: Application and Support Team Leader, APM
Location: Beijing/Shanghai

Position Scope:
This role is focused on driving excellence in customer applications & technical support for both pre-sales process and post-sales installation and training

Works closely with Life Technologies customers, field sales, sales managers, product marketing and technical support staff; identify market opportunities through development and commercialisation of new applications on Life Technologies systems

Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Sales Representatives to do on-field service to provide technical and applications expertise in response to customers’ inquiries
2. Support telephone inquiries
3. Provide post-sale applications training to customers in their laboratories and demonstrates proper operating procedures with Life Technologies consumable products
4. Prepare and present seminars to customers, potential customers and Life Technologies Sales Representatives and other employees as requested
5. Provide technical expertise in conferences and trade show booths
6. Proactively accomplish all administrative duties such as reports, presentations, meetings, and etc.
7. Attends technical training and scientific meetings to gather information on new trends, innovative products and discoveries.

Education/Experience:
1. Master or PhD degree major in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and etc.
2. Requires a minimum of 2-3 years’ hands-on experience in Biological research. Sequencing and QPCR experience is strongly preferred. HID or Paternity test experience is a plus. Preferred working experience in Health Care, Biotech, and other large corporations.
3. Proven systematic and analytical problem solving skills.
4. Quick learner for new technology and new skill.
5. Good communication skills required
6. Good oral and written English skill. Good office software skills.
7. Required to travel extensively to cover our distributed customers throughout China.
