POSITION: Marketing Manager, Consumer Marketing
REPORTS TO: General Manager

POSIITIION SUMMARY

Manage external collateral and communication efforts to reinforce luxury, brand message of DFS. This includes efforts to drive store traffic, increase spending, and build brand awareness for our emerging core customers as well as capitalize on existing brand awareness for our potential consumers. Achieve division and global marketing objectives by working directly and closely with creative/production agencies, media agency, copywriters, consultants, division sales and marketing partners and product merchants on effective and accurate customer proposition messages, innovative design consistent with DFS high level of luxury standards, and timely execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing:
- Design, implement and manage marketing plan and strategies to achieve all set targets and objectives
- Design tailored marketing programs for each business partner including the travel industry and inbound partners to promote the awareness of the DFS brand and increase customer visits to DFS stores
- Design, implement and manage all external DFS communications to ensure the DFS brand is represented on a consistent basis
- Ensure all Sales & Marketing team are promoting the relevant products/brands and marketing messages in line with company merchandising promotional strategies
- Establish new joint business partnerships to promote the DFS brand and to gain customers to shop at DFS stores
- Work with corporate and other divisional consumer marketing teams on marketing strategies so as to achieve global marketing objectives

Promotions:
- Design, implement and manage approved promotional concepts to reflect local events & activities to achieve sales targets through attracting customers to visit DFS
- Create promotional programs to support new products, brands launches i.e. Storewide promotions
- Ensure synergy and resources efficiency by working closely with other divisional sales and marketing and consumer marketing teams on common promotions/launches

Advertising:
- Design, implement and manage approved advertising concepts to keep the DFS brand consistent in all different medium of advertising and in line with corporate standards, to provide clear and consistent message to the customer
- Source and cultivate healthy relationships with all advertising suppliers to obtain competitive advertising rates thus allowing DFS first preference over our competitors

Public Relations:
- Establish and maintain good working relationship with the media in order to gain positive exposure for DFS where possible
- Write and distribute media and press statements for DFS developments, brand launches in conjunction with vendors
- Plan regular in-store events that will increase the profile of the DFS brand in the local media
- Ensure the appropriate media and celebrities attend the events and that DFS receives supporting editorial

Event Co-ordination:
- Liaise with Vendor in conjunction with Division Merchandise Managers to secure support for events to promote Brand/Product awareness
- Design and execute event within budgetary guidelines and to Vendor requirements

General:
- Continue to manage DFS Galleria advertising and marketing program to ensure maximum exposure and awareness of DFS
- Provide regular analysis and reports on promotions and advertising activities to line management within stated timeframes
- Assist line management with budget planning and forecasting process. Manage the marketing and advertising budget and ensure that all expenditure is appropriately approved and accounted for
- Seek new marketing opportunities that are of relevance to the overall development of the business
- Continue to strengthen vendor relationships to ensure DFS is held at a high priority for major brand/product launches and joint promotional concepts
- General duties as directed by Senior Management

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Public Relations or Communications
Work Experience: 5+ years’ experience in marketing with diversified project experiences
Tools/Resources: Proficiency in MS Microsoft computer applications and email required.

Hainan DFS Retail Company Limited is the subsidiary of DFS Hong Kong Limited, a wholly foreign owned enterprise (WFOE) registered in Haikou city, Hainan province. In 2005, DFS signed off a contact with Hainan Meilan International Airport (HMIA) for operating and managing all the retail facilities in the existing and new extension domestic passenger terminal. We took over six grocery shops from HMA as of March 15, 2005 and renovated the stores one by one. Now we have three different types of stores in the airport, i.e. grocery, luxury and lease shops.
