Job Profile of Manager - Datacenter/Infrastructure
Summary Job Description
A Manager is responsible for the management of several small projects or one medium size project. This position manages client relationships for his/her project and has frequent and direct contact with senior-level managers to provide business or technical expertise and project direction. A Manager identifies follow-on opportunities, taking leads in developing proposal/sales efforts for select opportunities and delivering high quality deliverables. They are also involved in creating approval and execution of the statement of work. In addition, this position is responsible for project financial management, including the achievement of revenue, profitability and cash management goals.
Background/Experience/Credentials
Ø Typically has over 10 years of relevant work experience related to IT Infrastructure strategy/planning, datacenter solution, networking/voice and disaster recovery technology including both consulting and general industry experience
Ø Bachelors degree or above in computing science, information system, accounting or related disciplines
Ø Certification of CCNP, MCSE, CISSP, CCIE is preferred but not mandatory
Ø Good understanding in any of the following areas is preferred: datacenter assessment, sourcing, IT Security, Specific knowledge in datacenter process, operation, Infrastructure security and risk compliance.
Ø Experience in managing projects or small teams of professionals
Ø Solid project management and implementation skills required
Ø Strong analytical and good consultation, communication skills required
Ø Recognized internally for management or functional expertise in target industry and/or solution
Ø Mature, proactive and committed
Ø Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese, including both technical and business writing, good documentation and presentation skills
Ø Willing to travel
Roles/Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
Ø Managing multiple small engagements or a single medium size project, including preparation of work plans, contracts and budgets, as well as managing project teams and client relations, and overseeing preparation of project deliverables.
Ø Managing project financials to ensure that projects fall within budget and meet financial metrics; ensuring timely and accurate preparation of invoices and collections.
Ø Participating in recruiting and developing individual staff to build a talented and stable cadre of professional staff.
Ø Managing client expectations and continuing client relationships at all levels
Ø Participating in market analysis, including identification of new or follow-on opportunities and/or new markets; preparing marketing and/or capture plans; and qualifying specific opportunities.
Ø Leading preparation of qualification packages, managing proposal development, including project scoping, proposal approach, staffing plan, and pricing for small or medium size engagements.
Ø Supporting development of financial plans by providing projections of project revenue, sales, bookings and staff utilization.
Ø Supporting achievement of group's financial targets, through sound project execution, management of non-charge, business development, bid and proposal budgets, and management of staff utilization.
