1.0 Position Summary
a. Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in Songjiang Plant operation to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
b. Contribute to the effectiveness of the business unit planning and goal setting process by developing, recommending, implementing and achieving operational plans, goals, budgets, and capital requirements.
c. Measurement of success includes the measurement of shipment on-time performance, direct labor productivity, quality levels and leading edge product cycle times.
d. Provide strong leadership on all aspects of materials management and logistics activities to ensure optimum inventory and distribution costs are obtained to meet demand and quality requirements.
e. Maintains continuous dialogue and communication with the Plant Manager as needed to keep him apprised of the status of safety, quality, production, schedules, loads, problems and opportunities available to maximize efficient operations and to enhance the overall operations of the company manufacturing operations.
f. Displays a personal and professional commitment to the continuous improvement process.

2.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· a. Reviews production orders or schedules to determine product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
b. Manage the daily and weekly shipments from Songjiang Plant operation.
c. Direct and manage the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing and operational function.
d. Lead and conduct weekly and monthly business meetings and scorecards including managing the execution and milestones of major projects
e. Initiate cost and lead time reductions at the product level through efficiency and cycle time improvements and material cost reduction.
f. Manage the supplier billing process.
g. Manage Freight & Logistics and negotiate freight rates & 3PL and ensure adherence to global Materials Management Practices and Guidelines
h. Manage consistent evaluation and audit of product suppliers' and logistics providers' capabilities and effectiveness.
i. Evaluate and enhance process flows and systems to achieve constant improvements for better material systems and process effectiveness to achieve resource maximization.
j. Provide full materials and logistics support to the sourcing team working on new business opportunities evaluation and implementation as well as new projects start up.
g. Formulate operating policies and procedures for administrative functions and document these policies and procedures in the form of a written Operations Manual.
k. Select, train, develop, evaluate and motivate an effective team of Supervisors and Operators.
l. Develop and implement on-going skills assessment and training efforts both on and off the job to upgrade the skills level of the organization in support of the achievement of operational plans and objectives.
m. Maintain open, candid and continuous communications with personnel from all functions to ensure that essential information is disseminated to insure accomplishment of critical business objectives and customer satisfaction.
n. Foster and develop teamwork, cooperation and openness via employee empowerment concepts.
h. Comply with established company policies and procedures, as well as delegate assignments to subordinate staff as needed.

3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Bachelor degree (4 years) in Engineering/Management or equivalent is required; a degree in engineering, business or supply management is preferred.
· Minimum five years experience in engineering or manufacturing environment or prior first line shop supervisor as well as experience in at least two different manufacturing support functions such as Production Control or Quality Assurance.
· Experience with Multi National Corporation environment is an advantage
· Experience with SAP and/or equivalent ERP business systems/software.
· Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin.
· Familiar with reading and understanding technical drawings.
· Computer literate and good working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs, PowerPoint, etc.
· General knowledge of product structure, manufacturing processes as well as quality standards and modern manufacturing technologies and techniques.
· Understanding of Total Quality processes as well as Lean concepts.
· Ability to effectively interface with and engage the skills and talents of employees supervised to improve business performance.
· A strong influencing nature, coupled with personal commitment towards the achievement of goals in a collaborative environment.
· Must have the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments as well as develop and execute plans and objectives in a timely and effective manner.
· Effective communication, analytical, and judgmental skills are required.
