Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

Program manage all new tools/equipments from design to production. This includes * Technical reviews between suppliers and GE, tool/equipment design, tool/equipment producibility, controlling tool/equipment costs, * Qualification and development of new tools/equipments and reporting on tool build status and progress * Lead new tooling qualification in supplier place, first piece measurement, MSA and process capability study * Follow up problem solving of issues identified by tooling trial run in Plant; * Assist the Sourcing team on supplier surveys to assess tool shop capability and capacity; * Identify and implement productivity projects involving tool changes or supplier moves; * Provide technical support to the Sourcing team with solving current production tooling issues and develop quality, timely and cost effective solution. * Travel to suppliers and sites on a regular basis will be required.

Qualifications/Requirements

* BS Technical Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, minimum eight (8) years working experience in tooling & equipment design, building & development. * Tool and die experience with design and fabrication of sheet metal dies and plastic injection molds. * Solid metrology knowledge and experience, be familiar with CMM and other measuring equipment. * Experience in supplier Quality Assurance /Control, know how to apply statistical quality control tools for process / product control. * Fluent in English. * Strong analytical skills, excellent detailed planning and project tracking skills. * Team player with strong interpersonal skills. * Self motivated, decision maker who thinks out of the box. * Self-discipline, self-starter, ability to work in cross-functional team environment.
