Responsibilities:
? Serve as Senior Project Manager for international (typically intercontinental) projects for one or more clients, according to Covance Standard Operating Procedures, ICH Guidelines and GCP .
? Responsible for the successful conduct of assigned projects.
? Serve as Senior Project Manager for assigned business development opportunities.
? Liaise with senior management in the Delivery and Service Centres to ensure adequate resources are available for assigned projects.
? Responsible for on time, on-budget provision of client deliverables for assigned projects
? Where appropriate and as assigned, line management responsibility for the training, utilisation, development and performance review of assigned clinical research personnel.
? Lead core project team and facilitate their ability to lead extended/complete project team.
? Lead cross unit coordination both internal and external, inclusive of sub-contractors for projects utilizing one or more Covance Services or sites.
? Define and manage project resource needs and establish contingency plans for key resources.
? Ensure successful design, implementation, tracking and revision of project plans for assigned projects.
? Promote effective teamwork among project team members within Covance departments and offices. Resolve conflicts as needed.
? Ensure appropriate communication on project-related matters with the PM Management.
? Where appropriate and as assigned, meet resource management and utilization targets for assigned staff and, in collaboration with the leadership of other functional groups, meet overall project targets.
? Meet financial performance targets for the assigned clinical projects
? Ensure project deliverables are met according to both Covance and client expectations
? Initiate improvements to enhance the efficiency and the quality of the work performed on assigned projects.
? Key client contact for assigned projects.
? Establish excellent working relationships with client project teams to ensure client satisfaction and operational excellence.
? Ensure that all staff allocated to assigned projects adhere to professional standards and SOPs established for clinical research.
? Manage all aspects of designated projects
? Provide performance feedback of team members to respective department Heads
? Prepare and deliver presentations for new business in collaboration with PM Management and business development.
? Present at both industry meetings and internal meetings Requirements.

Requirements:
? University/college degree (life science preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession from an appropriately accredited institution (e.g., nursing certification, medical or laboratory technology).
? Detailed knowledge of financial control procedures (e.g. costing systems, TAQ / EVA).
? Thorough knowledge of project management processes, time and cost estimate development.
? Thorough knowledge of ICH Guidelines and GCP including international regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical development programs.
? Fluent in local office language and in English, both written and verbal.
? Broad knowledge of drug development process and client needs.
? Available for domestic and international travel, including overnight stays.
? Minimum of seven (7) years relevant clinical research experience in a pharmaceutical company/CRO, including at least two (2) years of full project management responsibility. In lieu of the above requirement, candidates with > five (5) years supervisory experience in a heath care setting and > five (5) years clinical research experience including two (2) years of project management experience (international clinical trial management experience preferred) in the pharmaceutical or CRO industries will be considered.
? Experience in managing global (inter-continental) projects in a multi-office environment.
? Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities; utilize resources effectively.
? Financial awareness and ability to actively manage financial tracking systems.
