Relationship Manager - China

Commercial Bank International Banking Group is a dedicated team of banking professionals providing international expertise, consultative advice and financial solutions to US domestic clients & prospects. International Banking Group supplements US marketing efforts with the firm's international capabilities, allowing Commercial Banking to bring customers global solutions to meet their financial needs. We provide banking services to international subsidiaries and affiliates of Mid-Corporate and Middle Market clients in APAC region, EMEA region, Canada and Latin America. Commercial Bank International Banking - China team provides client coverage of mainland China subsidiaries and works closely with US origination teams (International Coverage Bankers ICBs) and US Bankers (Corporate Client Bankers & Middle Market Bankers) as well as Product Specialists from across the firm to identify and support the banking needs and requirements of CB clients. In addition, for US subsidiaries of mainland China companies which are not clients of Investment Banking in China, CB China team also provides client coverage of such China parent companies as required.
Job functions/responsibilities :
1. Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of CB clients in mainland China - including in-country offices/subsidiaries of US companies etc.
2. Size up market opportunity. Identify, solicit & develop new CB relationships and facilitate the expansion of these relationships globally throughout the CB International Banking Group.
3. Analyze complex financial information to structure appropriate client solutions & credit facility as well as execution of various banking transactions.
4. Provide quality and tailored business solutions to CB clients through the partnership with different Product teams, Investment Banking teams, Credit Risk Management to deliver comprehensive JPM products.
5. Identify and assess credit transactions and documentation requirements (including corporate loan facilities, working capital lines, securities & trading lines, FX & derivative lines, etc). 6. Work with JPM legal & outside counsel on legal agreements. Negotiate loan documentation and close credit transactions.
7. Work with China product and US Underwriter on new credit facility approval package, facility set up, annual facility renewal, etc.
8. Responsible for mainland China in-country KYC compliance and accurate client set up in various bank systems.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 8 years working experience as a relationship manager in commercial banking / corporate banking team. Good knowledge and experience in handling multinational banking relationship.
2. Solid understanding of China financial services markets.
3. Good credit analysis and marketing skills.
4. Proven experience in cross selling products and meeting aggressive sales goals.
5. Good knowledge of corporate banking products and local regulations including debt products, working capital finance, cash management products, trade finance, FX derivatives products.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. An independent self starter, capable of working with minimal supervision. Analytical. Result oriented.
8. A team player and the ability to work well across a broad & diverse range of internal and external clients.
9. Good organizational & time management skills. Flexibility to co-ordinate & prioritize a number of transactions & matters at any one time.
10. Willing to travel and call clients in remote areas of mainland China.
Qualifications:
MBA / Degree Qualified, preferably with degree in science, business administration, economics, accounting, finance.
Language requirements:
Fluent in spoken and written English & Chinese
