Job Title: Regional Development Manager

Reports to: Regional Director, China & North Asia

Division: Edexcel Ltd.

Purpose

To act as Regional Development Manager for vocational education /academic programmes in order to develop new business and enhance the level of customer service in a specified area. This will include developing new business and visiting existing centres to improve customer satisfaction, providing face-to-face support/training and feedback.


The focus will be on achieving sales targets, largely through the sales of Edexcel products and services into both new and existing client base.

The post will involve close liaison with other team members and the Regional Director to identify and fulfill customer requirements in a proactive and efficient manner, including visits.

Illustrative Dimensions

This is a full-time post based in Beijing and will report to the Regional Director, China & North Asia.

You will have responsibility for developing business in a number of territories designated by the Regional Director and will assist in strategic initiatives to develop new business and enhance service to existing vocational education and academic centres.

You will be required to design, implement, and review business plans as designated by the Regional Director according to established practices. Business activity may include add and support products/programmes to the portfolio of existing customers as well as generation of new leads.

The role will demand innovation in the ways we communicate with, support and maintain this important customer base. It will also demand knowledge of Edexcel’s vocational and academic products and systems to assist in the promotion of our services and products in a specified area. You will be expected to travel frequently.

Key Result Areas
1. Business development and maintenance through sales and promotion of Edexcel products and its services using approved strategies to secure agreed business growth and maintain existing business. Business development will be through account/project management and as per agreed objectives, individually negotiated with Regional Director.

2. Services to vocational/academic centres in area concerned: Provide generic training/advice directly to designated centers and fulfill Edexcel customer satisfaction standards in a manner suited to each customer’s context and priorities. Work within approved business development budget as defined by Regional Director; propose the area marketing budget/tactical plan to get agreement from Regional Marketing Manager.

3. Working closely with Regional Director and other members of regional team, maintain and develop contacts with key influencers in relation to area business development . This will involve liaising with relevant areas of the sector such as centres, partners, external bodies, government departments and key stakeholders in order to establish position and provision in area as well as aiming for official recognition/accreditation.

Tasks/Objectives

1. Identifying & acquiring new schools/vocational centres/corporate accounts on patch
2. Validating new centers/schools/programmes
3. Delivering/Selling new products into existing Schools/centres/corporate accounts
4. Supporting /reviewing the operation of existing schools/vocational centres on patch including internal/external verification
5. Providing generic training to centers/schools/corporate accounts
6. Monitoring the students recruitment, registration, EV visits and other field supervision
7. Formulating business plans for patch
8. Achieving and exceeding monthly/quarterly/yearly targets as set out by Regional Director
9. Ensuring all centres are regularly contacted and visited according to priority
10. Giving feedback information/reports to Regional Director
11. Clearing debts below acceptable levels

Person Specification:
Essential
Education business related experience
Strong commercial focus and proven experience of business development
Knowledge of support with value-added service and specific training
A professional, proactive and innovative approach
Education to post-degree level
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience of positive customer care
Fluent in English and Chinese
Ability to work with a team

Desirable
Experience & skills from Campus or Education Consultant; Knowledge of more than one of the languages of allocated countries will be an advantage but not essential;
Previous experience and / or involvement in this market
Knowledge on International Education
