Position Title: GTT_ Aftermarket Purchasing buyer (34436BR)

Position description:

Volvo Group Purchasing is 1600 professionals charged with managing 12 billion Euros of supplier spend. We purchase for all brands within Volvo Group Trucks. We leverage the Group's consolidated purchasing strength. Our people are highly engaged, professional purchasers who bring added value through a thorough knowledge of purchasing and supplier markets.

GTT Aftermarket Purchasing is seeking a Buyer (Sourcing /Project/Operation ) for a position in the Asia Division.

As a Continental Buyer - Purchase for the Volvo Group brands in accordance with the defined strategies. Optimize the total cost and ensure that quality and on-time delivery are secured. Contribute to the development of segment strategies and assure a coordinated sourcing approach for the segment across the continental GTT Aftermarket Purchasing organization. The person will be located in Shanghai managing Asian suppliers in his/her scope.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for a purchasing portfolio of components

· Support product development and product modifications in the portfolio

· Perform the activities required for the portfolio: negotiations, optimize the total cost (Quality, logistics, manufacturing, etc.), purchasing requisitions, tooling investment

· Search for opportunities to improve the items cost and take action to implement them

· As delegated by the GCM- Global Commodity Manager :

· Develop expertise on his/her segment (market, suppliers, competition, technologies, projects...)

· Supplier host for key global suppliers

· Gather Aftermarket business inputs from the Volvo Group brands for his/her segments

· Contribute to segment strategies development.

· Manage the working relationships with the segment supply base: solve quality, delivery, cost problems.

· Run sourcing activities and select suppliers.

· Provide support to other aftermarket functional areas

· Work in accordance with the GTT Purchasing processes, the Volvo Way, and the GTT Purchasing values

· Do business with global and local suppliers, including Japanese suppliers as majority

Education or experience required:

· University degree in Business, Engineering or related field (extensive experience and strong performance can substitute for lack of a diploma)

· 3 - 5 years purchasing experience in Automobile or related industry

· Team leadership

· Good social competence and positive approach in matrix management environment.

· Experience from or interested in working with different cultures.

· Travelling on frequent basis domestically and internationally

· Fluent in English as compulsory

· Daily conversation in Japanese as preferred
